As the proud new owner of a beautiful (and expensive) Benoit resonator, I wish to keep it out of the music room and right by my side in the living room! I need a suggestion for a good stand that will work with dobros...and not fall over. |

If you don't come up with something else, I bought a Dobro stand that I sometimes use with a Dobro or a National squareneck tricone. I got it from Musician's Friend for $120 (too much). Morrell Dobro Stand Product #451293

John, I am looking for a floor stand holder to put it on when not in use...not to play it on. Is that what you have? |

No, I thought you meant a stand to use while standing or sitting and playing. If you are looking for a guitar stand to sit in upright there are several out there made by woodworker types that would look good in a living room and maybe even not offend oh, say, a wife. |

If I can make a suggestion: keep it in the case most of the time. The biggest worry you face, especially in Rhode Island, is flucutions in humidity. The best way to protect the instrument is to keep it in the case when you are not playing it. I've used just regular guitar stands for my Beard MA and it has worked fine. |

I keep mine on there stands in the living room but behind the couch ( I think you guys call it a davenport "A") out of harms way. There still hand to play and out of the traffic lanes of dogs and kids. Davenport patatoes??? |

I use the String Swing wall hangers. Got a dobro, fiddle, banjo, mandolin and guitar within reach and they do make a room look good. |

I recommend Hercules stands. They have a clever mechanism that closes over the nut when you put an instrument in. The Hercules stands come in single, double and triple. I use the triple stands. One caveat: the Gold Tone Beard Signature dobro I owned would not fit because the nut was too tall. My regular Beard dobros will fit just fine. I use these stands on stage as well. I like the small footprint for three instruments.Al ------------------ So many stringed instruments, so little time... |

One of the sideways type is best, but they are made for 3 guitars or more. |
