I have a C.D of Johnny Bush from sometime back that has Farewell Party on it with the great Jimmy Day on steel, and it credits the writer of Farewell Party as L.Williams, anybody know who that is?

Lawton Williams could rest on the fact that he wrote "Fraulien." But he doesn't. His writing career also spawned "Geisha Girl," "Shame On Me," "Cold, Cold Hands" and "Farewell Party." Lawton was a very successful television star in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and one of his most memorabilia hits was "Everythings OK on the LBJ."

Lawton was also the first person to record "Farewell Party"--as a shuffle, no less.

Lawton also had a songwriting column in the old Country Song Roundup magazines.
