Has anybody been playing the new Peavey Nashville 112? I just got mine yesterday (thanks, Ann Fabian) and I absolutely love it. This thing is set up just like a Nashville 1000, with a smaller, more lightweight cabinet and a 12" speaker. It has some tremendous features, including a headphone output and an input for a CD player. This is the perfect woodshed amp. I am still tweaking the EQ, trying to get the sound right and compensate for the smaller speaker. I already have a 400, a 1000 and a PX300, and I've been alternating with these amps to try and reproduce similar tones through the 112. Does anybody have any ideas for the settings?

One great feature of this amp is the "amp in" plug that lets you bypass the EQ entirely. I use this a lot, because I usually play through a Profex and a Stereo Steel preamp. The preamp has a "warmth" control that boosts the low midrange at about 250 Hz, and I find if I add a little of this, I can compensate for the otherwise somewhat "tinny" sound of the smaller speaker.

I can't wait to try this amp in a small club. Kudos to Mike Brown and the rest of the Peavey team for creating another winner.

Thanks for your review. My 112 is on order, so I am naturally interested in your and others' comments.

Thanks for the purchase of your Nashville 112 amplifiers! I'm glad to hear the positive reviews of our efforts and hope that you enjoy this product. A lot of credit goes to our dealer network who provide input as to what features the amp should have and what the minimum retail price should be.

Be sure to test drive the Nashville 112 amp and Carter steel guitar in the Peavey Demo Room at the upcoming St. Louis Steel Guitar Convention on Labor Day weekend.

If you have questions beforehand, you may contact me here at Peavey by calling 1-877-732-8391 in North America and (601)483-5365 outside North America. I'll be glad to assist you.
