What I'm looking to do is have a separate lap steel to do the dobro thing. To clarify, I DON'T want to just hook a MatchBro to my pedal steel, or what I might hear, "Aw, why don'tchee jes gitchee a dobro with a nice peekup ownit." NO, I don't want to do that, I'm thinking a about doing this with a lap steel, & the reason I posted in electronics is that this separate lap steel would obviously need a device like the MatchBro, or is there a pickup made that can be mounted. I am aware of Duane's Cat Can & maybe that's what I should do, but it came & went before I got back into steel, + I'm wanting to use the dobro simulator device on a new(er) 10 str. lap steel. So, does anybody use a MatchBro with a lap steel, or for what I want to do (lap steel to do the job, not my pedal steel or real dobro) is there a better way? Talk to me, Forum. |

I bought a Cat-Can recently and it sounds pretty good. I hooked it up through my MatchBro and it got even better. It's still not a dobro, but it would sure do the job on a lot of bandstands. I would sell the Cat-Can if you are interested, that is what I bought it for. Drop me an e-mail if you would like more information. |

Yes the "cat-can" (actually an RGS, Resonator Guitar Simulator, made by Marrs) is exactly what you want. Used ones sell from $250-$350. | |
