Hey Gang, I've just got to share this with y'all. I've been messin' around with steel guitars and amplifiers for a little over 65 years (since I was four years old) and have played on and through a whole lot of different steels and amp configurations. Most of them would qualify as really good rigs. This week end I've put in one of the hardest 3 days of pickin' I've done in a long, long time. One of those days (Saturday) was a full 20 hour day of loading in, loading out, traveling to and between and playing two 5 hour gigs,,,both of which were outdoor gigs in the very unusual heat and humidity for this time of year (Southeast Texas). We played LOUD, long and hard. I just got my two new Peavey Nashville 112's out of the cartons on my way to the Friday night gig with much anticipation from my previous experience with a pair of them at the Super Dupper Jam in Nashville a month before. Now gang, I don't work for or represent Peavey in any way other than being a paying customer just like most of you. I recieve no "kick backs" or any other kind of "special favors" other than the common courtesy and service that Peavey and Mike Brown offers to all of us. I have to tell you that these little buggers (all 40 pounds of them) came through like a world heavy weight champion. They are small, compact, tough, rugged and must have a ton of dyn-o-mite in them. We played country, swing and rock real hard and loud,,,,I played both E-9 and C-6 and these little babies took it all with lots, and I do mean LOTS, of room to spare. Their clarity, brilliance, responce, span of tone choices and head room left absolutely nothing to be desired. You can "take it to the bank" and owe it to yourself to try one or even two, as I did, of these fabulous little amps out. Me and the boys in the band are still shaking our heads over the amazing great sounds the Nashville 112 presented and gave to us. Trust me please,,,,they are THAT GOOD!!!! I don't think I've seen one negative comment on these amps. Pretty darn impressive! |

I love this amp, big gigs small gigs. Country, Hawaiian, acoustic guitar. It's one in a million. An instant classic. But I'll be the devils avocate and make a negative comment just to ad some balance. You have to order and pay for the cover extra! (at least I did) 'sup with that? Every new amp I've purch. in the last 4 years ('cept 112) has come with a cover included in the price. Fender DeVille - nice cover Reverend Hellhound - really nice heavy duty cover AER Compact 60 - soft padded amazingly cool cover. (new ones have gig bags) Come on Peavey, don't be cheesey - add some value. Chinese made cover BOM cost is prob. $1.12 ------------------ Chris Kennison Ft. I agree, Chris! I had to pay another $20 for a cheap-looking and flimsy plastic cover for my Nashville 1000, and I vowed I wouldn't do THAT again! Hence my 112 is open to the elements, except when it's in a road-case as it is at present!I bet you're not far wrong with your estimate of the real cost of those 'Peavey' covers - it wouldn't hurt them to throw one in gratis.... Believe me, nothing is "free" as the cost is figured into the price. We have began including some covers with the purchase of some Peavey amplifiers now. Maybe this will carry over to the Nashville 112 amp, I don't know. |

Mike, Absolutely agree, nothing is 'free' - clearly price would change to cover the cost - big deal. As a customer - it just feels nice to get some extra stuff 'free'. I'd still buy the thing. I'll bet nobody would ever say "ok, how much with out the cover?". "I'll go sew my own and save $18" - ...nah.At some point you need to have those customer 'delighers' to remain status quo. Todays delighters, are tomorrows standard expectations. Sort of like getting power windows, air-conditioning, and cruise control. They are no longer options (at least for most good cars) It's 'standard' now on almost every new car - we (consumers) like it! - of course it makes the car more expensive - but the bar has been raised and people don't want cars without that stuff anymore. They WILL buy GPS as an option - it's the new delighter. (another dangerous distracting car toy, - but a delighter non the less) Like I said - the amp is absolutely brilliant! But, my customer expectation in 2004 is that an amp comes with a cover, a guitar comes with a case, and a laptop computer comes with a wireless card. Just giving you some customer feedback to dump on whoever owns TCE in the marketing dept. ------------------ Chris Kennison Ft. Chris, I get your drift and will pass it along to marketing. Who knows, it might happen. Thanks for the input. |

Bobby, I am considering two of the Nash112's. How did you have them connected and setup on stage, and were you using any effects other than the 112's themselves. Thanks, Glenn |

Glenn,I had one set up a little to each side of me and behind me about 5 feet. I use a Peavey ProFexII,,,right side channeled into one amp and left side channeled into the other amp. I go into the front high gain of both amps and turn the amp reverb off. Some people go into the back of the amp instead. I would not hesitate to use just one amp if I had to. I just prefer the duel amps when I can. They really kicked some major butt and were ready to kick some more if I'd let 'em. Man,,,what an amp. BB ------------------ If you play 'em, play 'em good! The more gigs I play through mine, the better I like it.I don't care if they don't "give you a cover"/ I do wish the top vent wasn't so exposed to gravity powered debris. Especially the liquid type. Great amp. EJL |

I have been using one or two Peavey Px300's with a profex II and been totally satisfied. Sarah Jory played here at our convention center and had the option of using the Nashville 1000, Sesson 500, Nashville 400, or Nashville 112 (which I had but was not using)...She picked the Nashville 112 and sounded totally great...I rethought the weight, age (my age), etc...and have switched to the 112 for all my gigs (we do mic everything)..No problems. I come out of my profex into the back of the Nashville 112 and a direct line from the profex into the soundsystem (It works great as I don't use stero on my settings).. |

I used the 112 last night on the most demanding gig I'll ever do...Frenchie. The amp performed wonderfully. I ran it back through the monitor and it had more than plenty of power. Volumes set on 3 & 7, and what a great tone! |
