Fine speakers and sound great. I cannot find any markings looking at the back side. I know they are 4ohm(DC volt meter). They look like the speakers in the NV1000.Been searching the archives, but no luck. |

Ron, I am pretty sure if you will look around the magnet both top and bottom up close to where the basket begins, you wil find a piece of stick on tape with the info. on it ! It is hard to find so you might try using a small mirror to look .Maybe Mike with Peavey will correct me here if I am incorrect .They may have changed their ID marking locations since I found my info. in that area . I believe the 1501 are non ribbed cones and the 1502 are ribbed like most bass speakers |

What about 1501 SB vs DT? I've heard the SB is always noted on that label, whereas the DT is not always on the sticker. I guess one could compare the two and the DT would be deeper, but not everyone has access to 2 of them at a time. Any added info? |

Bill and Jim you are both right. The Black Widow 1501DT-4 Deep or Shallow Basket, is a high density curvilinear smooth paper cone type speaker. The 1502DT-4/8 ohm, 1504DT-4, and 1505DT-4 are Kevlar impregnated, and are primarily used as Bass Speakers. It is the same for the 1201, 1202, and 1205 they are impregnated with Kevlar. The 1203-4 and 8 ohm are paper cone. Also, if you see markings in white ink on your BW speaker basket, you will know it is a replacement basket. If your speaker does not have any markings on the basket and has a sticker, it probably is the origional speaker. I believe the DT is a deeper basket than the SB but I have not compared them side by side. |

Concerning Black Widow Speakers, I would like to recommend Peaveys web Site. It is a wealth of information. Not only can you download operating guides for most of Peavey's equipment, you can get electronic specs such as the Black Widow Super Structure. It helped me in designing an enclosure for a 1502-4DT.------------------ 1969 ZB Custom D10, BMI S10,Peavy Musician Mark III, 15 Inch Black Widow[This message was edited by Lyle Clary on 12 June 2005 at 02:17 PM.] [This message was edited by Lyle Clary on 12 June 2005 at 02:18 PM.] |
