Just a shout out to Rick Johnson, who makes really good cabinets. I just put my 63 brownface Bandmaster and 3 Weber VST 10's in the cabinet Rick built for me. Went together in minutes, fit was perfect, and the look and sound are awesome. Thanks Rick!!!!Also thanks to Jerry Erickson for providing a photo of the genuine article for us to copy. If anybody cares, I resolved the speaker impedance issue by buying 12 ohm voice coils, so the amp would see the 4 ohms it was designed for. Sounds great. I'm glad I did it that way. Here is a link to my new/old amp and some of its friends: http://home1.gte.net/parntson/steels.jpg And thanks to this fine forum for all the opinions and info that made this little project a breeze. -Paul |

Hey Paul. I have the exact same Silvertone! I love it. Sounds really sweet on the soft and gentle tunes, and it has the grittiest scream when distorted too! -Tim |

Hi Tim, I have a 1950 Sears and Roebuck catalog (my parents saved it for me because that is when I was born) that has a picture of that silvertone. I think it sold new for $28.00. I find myself reaching for that guitar quite often. I learned on this forum that that is a Gibson pickup on there. |

Rick - Thank you sooo much. The detail work is fantastic on that cabinet. And the precise woodwork brings out the best in those 10A125 WeberVST speakers. It's a monster. -Paul |
