Anyone familiar with these? The control panel looks the same as a 614-E minus the reverb and 5 band EQ. It is rated at 225 watts at 4 ohms as well. From reading on Webb's site, it would seem that all of the amps are pretty much the same with the exception of certain features. At any rate, I bought one of these bass heads to try with my steel using an M-300 for delay & reverb. It should be here later this week. Any opinions or direct knowledge of this head are appreciated. I don't know for sure, but it sure looks like a bare bones Webb 614-E. It's got the same power amp, eq, and tone selector. If you've got the FX unit, you should be good to go. Who needs that graphic EQ anyway? Where did you find it? I've never seen one before. And how about $$$?Brad

Hi Brad, I found this head on Ebay. I know that many bass heads can be used for steel guitar since the voicings are similiar on the eq. I figured that the Webb would be essentially the same power plant as the 614-e. It only lacks the reverb and 5 band and it has a mid boost sitch. The intensity level has a switch rather than a knob also. All in all I hope it works well with the m-300. Thanks for the input since you are one of the "Webb guru's!" Take care, Dave[This message was edited by David Higginbotham on 19 September 2005 at 04:33 AM.] |
