Topic: Still can't find my Address BooK***

Wiz-After all your expert amd fine advice. I still have not brought up my Address Book. I printed out your post and followed it till I got to looking for a folder named Al Marcus, which is my user name. And did not see a folder called "Microsoft", so my search ended right there.
It seems like a complicated way to find a simple thing.I would rather stick to my music, where I am more comfortable.I don't see why these softward developers don't make the computer do all the searching which I am sure it is capable of doing with the right programming. Like for instance , in my case . I should be able to ask to restore my address book and the computer finds it. I don't want to have to Navigate here and navigate there, etc. As far as I can see most software is still in the baby stage compared to what it could be . I wonder if we will ever be able to tell a computer to do something or get something without a lot of navigating, several clikings etc.
We are lucky to have this computer section so well represented with excellent advice on the Steel Guitar Forum and I thank every one here for the help I and others have had in this section...Thanks...al ------------------

Al;
Did you set your Folder View Options to display/show hidden and system files and to not hide known file types? The folder you were looking for is normally hidden from view to prevent people from accidentally deleting it's sub-directories. If you overlooked this step, do the following:Open My Computer and click on "Tools > Folder Options > View" and uncheck these options: "Hide extensions for known file types"
"Hide protected operating system files" Next, check the following options: "Show hidden files and folders"
"Display the content of system folders" Click Apply, then OK and search again. Let me know how you make out. Your search path should be "(C):\Documents and Settings\(Al Marcus)\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book\ " ------------------

Or, you might use the Search function in the Explorer and look for: "*.WAB"Remove the quotes in the files box. |

In order for a disk search to display the Address Book one must first set the folder view/search criteria options to display hidden and system files and folders and to show registered (known) file types. This is because the .wab file is normally hidden, since it is a child of the hidden Application Data directory.------------------
