Smiley is experiencing computer troubles again and ask that I post this for him. NTSGA and Forum member Bill Sharp passed away this morning around 6:30 AM. Bill was a gentleman and a true friend to those who knew him. Funeral arrangements should be posted later.

I am shocked! We were going to get together for lunch as soon as he got to feeling better, which has been a few months now.

Mike:
Thank you for letting our forum family know of my family's loss.

The funeral will be held on Monday, April 22 at 2:00 at the Hermitage Memorial Gardens in Hermitage, TN.

Earl:
Bill never really got to the point where he felt well enough to get together with you, but I know that was something he wished he really could have done.

My condolences and prayers to Mrs. Sharp and her family.

I have never met Bill,,,but he and I have exchanged e mails on a few occasions. It was
through Smiley that I had the good fortune of
learning a little bit about Bill. He was a kind and sincere gentleman.

God rest his soul and give his wife and family the strength they need at this time.

I pray that Bill is "steeling" "among the stars". Bless him and his loved one's.

I have looked through previous posts I have posted...Bill was always complimenting me for my stories of my days at Fender.

He was one of a kind,,and his e mails to me here at home were always of a positive nature and his support.

As I posted above,,,he will be missed and I can feel for his friends and family the hurt
they suffer at this time.

To me...Bill was a wonderful man,and I too will miss him. Smiley has been a good friend of Bill's and I know how much this hurts him as well as those of you who have known Bill.

My prayers are with all of you.

We will see Bill and other loved ones once again,,its just that Bill got there a little bit ahead of us, but there will be a "reunion" someday somewhere. We will once again be with Bill Sharpe.

God be with all of you.

I only knew him through his Forum posts, but I always got the impression that he was a real stand-up guy. I'm sorry to see him leave.

My condolences to Mary and the others who were close to him. May we all meet again someday, in God's embrace.

Mary, I realize this is late but in reading Bobbie Seymours response to the Seymour guitar thread it just occurred to me who Bill was. I emailed you just now but it came back undelivered. I am deeply saddened by this news. I just realized you were the lady who bought the Profex II from me and we kept it as a surprise for Bill. I believe I recall it was a birthday present. Anyway, my sincere condolences and prayers go out to you and your family.

You have a very good memory Mr. Roller. I indeed was the one who bought the Profex for Bill as a surprise birthday gift, which by the way he really liked. Thank you for your condolences.

I still can't believe I won't see him again, he was one of my favorite people, as is his more than wonderful family. Mary is going to continue in the steel guitar club and the children are going to be players as well , we hope! Thank you Mary for being such a great friend to us all. We love you.

I have not checked "Our Extended Family" in several weeks. I am shocked and saddened to hear of Bill's passing. I think b0b has expressed the feeling very nicely. My condolances and prayers and wishes for strength go out to his wife and family.

I just learned this one from my daughter, this evenging. She's away at school for 4 more days -- but who's counting? She had it posted on her Instant Messenger and reading about Bill drew me back to the last two sentences of this quote.

quote:
Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can't go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you are the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

It sounds like Bill did just that. This is probably from a song, but I can't tell you who wrote it... but I'll be asking my girl.

Mary,
I apologize for my delayed response to this post. As I was reading it about a month ago, I was trying to recall where Bill and I had crossed trails. After going through my notes, I found that in Sept. of last year, I sold a Sho-Bud S-10, 3 & 5 for a friend of mine and Bill bought it. Bill and I had several neat e-mail conversations about PSG's, and such, in fact he e-mailed me some pics of his guitars and yours which I really appreciated. Those are some really beautiful instruments.
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. We send our "late but heart felt" condolences!

Yes, Mr. Dell, Bill and I were the ones who purchased that particular guitar. He and I loved the guitar as soon as we pulled it out of the box. He got to play the guitar once before I lost him, and it brought such joy to him. Thank you to both you and your wife for your condolences.
