Hey guys. I have been reading the Forum for
a while and finally got around to joining. I
have read some nice things about me and must
say thank you.
For anyone wondering who I am, I play for Gene Watson. I've been playing a Db10, 8x4 with a PF2 on the E9th. I just picked up a Carter S-10/DB 4x5 with a TW George L pickup.
I use the Day set-up. I'm glad to finally be a member. Corky

Hey Corky,
Welcome aboard.
I got your old black Emmons push pull about two months ago. I completely rebuilt it and it's fire engine red now and looks brand new. Doug Boggs and the boys in the band just love it,,,,,I do too! It's a great sounding and playing guitar.
See ya down the line maybe.

Hello there Corky! I know you probably dont remember me but our paths crossed one time in Tyler. You were living in one of those A frame houses off of Beckham street and had were just getting over being in a wreck on Houston street. I took one or two lessons from you there. Good to see you on the forum too. Welcome!

Corky, good to have you online!

Corky brought his group up to the show I play at in Warsaw, MO a few weeks ago (he had some singer with him - Gene somebody...!!!). Super steeler with a super sounding Franklin, and more importantly, a heck of a nice guy!

I really enjoyed our visit, Corky, and thanks for letting me look that Franklin over from top to bottom. Hope to see you again down the line.

From some where in my one room school history lessons, I recall the expression:

Your reputation, Sir, has preceded you !!

Or words to that effect. I must admit I have heard more about you from fellow steel players here in central GA who saw you and Gene at Perry, GA. I love to play steel but sometimes I think I miss a lot by being busy doing my own thing.....Good to have another giant with us !! We surely love all of you who have gained mastery of this instrument !

Regards, Paul

Thanks to everybody for making me feel at home. The guy's on the bus are alway's commenting on how steel players are so friendly and we seem to be old friends after we talk for a few minutes. I think they are jealous. I tell them it's because we care about our instrument growing and we want to know each other. And for the most part, we are not jealous of the other guy because we learn from each other. I hope I can help as much as I have been helped. I think the Forum is the perfect place for that to happen. I know I have learned alot since I started reading the Forum. Thanks Paul and Michael for the very kind words.Hey to my new friends in France. And thank you Bobby Tuttle for everything.Corky

Corky, good to see you on the forum finally!! It was great getting to visit with you at Renfro Valley a couple of weeks ago. I did get to catch a few tunes when I got a break from our show. You played great, killer tone too. Gene is one of my all time favorites. He NEVER hits a bad note. I'm looking forward to seeing you again here next year. Maybe you can catch part of a Renfro Valley show if your schedule permits. Welcome Aboard!!!

Greg

P.S. I'll take those tuners off your hands as soon as you are ready!!!

Hi Corky, Welcome to the Forum. You probably don't remember me, but I used to hang out at Curtis Kirks studio in Tyler when I was in town. Best regards, Jody.

Hey guy's. It's great to hear from folks I've known for years and didn't know where they got off to and folks I've just met in the the last few years. Jody, I do remember you and those were fun times I spent with Curtis. And as for Renfro Valley, nice place, great sound and the best people. I just wish it was more often. And I'll e-mail you when I take the Klusons off my Franklin. I have get Paul to rework it for me first. I leave Thurs. to do the Opry on Friday night, then we head to PA. I'll be back Monday so take care and God Bless. Corky

Corky,
Nice to see you on the forum. You might remember me from Wheeling, WV back in '79 or '80 when you were playing with some guy named Joe, or was it Moe? Anyway you broke a knee lever on your Sho-Bud and I had a little music store around the corner from the Jamboree and just happened to have a Super Pro and gave you a knee lever off of it. Then about 5 years ago you played at a place in Weirton, WV called the Redneck Roadhouse and we were the house band. I've always enjoyed your playing and hope to hear you again some time. Did you say you were going to be in PA soon? Where and when? I just live 25 mi. S. West of Pittsburgh. If you're close enough and I'm not picking, I'll sure try to get out to see you.
