My condolences to Leonard's family and friends.

I'm no great steel player, but my first guitar was a used Marlen D-10. I didn't make it sound like much -- my fault, not the guitar-- but it sure was purty to look at.

I am very saddened to hear this awful news. Although Leonard and I had lost touch over the years, he was a treasured friend. He was always honest, kind and willing to help anyone.
God bless Leonard Stadler.

We have lost a very dear friend today. Leonard Stadler was not just a builder of a great steel guitar but was a man loved by so many. In his journet through life he made so many friends because he had such a unique way of just giving his heart to all that passed his way. We will miss him dearly.

Something to think about! Do we put contributers to the steel guitar community in the SGHOF. If not we need to! Leonard, Ron Sr. and others, should be recognized for thier contributions

I am so deeply saddened to learn of Leonard's passing today. He touched my life like no other with his kindness, encouragement and friendship. Leonard was very humble and devoted his lifetime to sharing his talent and love of the steel guitar. He will be remembered for his sweet spirit and humility. We have truly lost one of the best friends and unsung heros the steel guitar world has ever known.

Rest In Peace My Friend,

Jerry

My prayers and condolences go to the Stadler family. I met Leonard in Reidsville when I went there to buy a D-10 Marlen from him, over 20 years ago.

As others have said, kindness and humility were Leonard's way.

WEll this is a sad day for me indeed.
My very first pedal steel was a Marlen S-10 3/3....and I've owed several since my first.
I love the Marlen pedal steel and everything Leonard Stadler has provided to the steel guitar community through the years......"He was a Great Man".
I say as a Tribute to that Great Man...."Everyone who owns a Marlen; should play their Marlen every gig;session;practice...till the End of September".
I know Mr. Stadler will be Smiling down on us for this Tribute.
I'm going to go borrow one of my Students Marlen to do this Tribute myself.
God Bless.

I cannot say what I need to. God Speed Leonard, my old friend !! I don't know if I am more sad or more scared. It feels as if my older brother has died. He was a very close friend to me when I was starting as he was to a lot of folks including those in St Louis at The Big Steel Guitar Show.

The world seemed full of steel guitar heros back then and now so many are gone.....

Warmest Regards to The Family, Paul

Let us rejoice with song, as Leonard has joined his creator in making the most beautiful music of all.

Let us remember the wonderful contributions that Leonard made, both in the steel guitar community, and in his private life.

I did not have the honor of knowing Mr. Stadler personally, but knew him through his instruments. The Stallings family would like to offer our condolences and prayers to his family.

God Bless,
Steve, Jo, and Kyle Stallings

I offer my condolences also to the Stadler family. May God bless you.

Skip, I too think the the builders should be inducted into the SGHOF. For without them, there would be no steel guitars and therfore no great steel guitarists.

I add my condolences to the family and friends of Mr Stadler..What can I say that has not already been said...A true friend to the Steel guitar world...and a person yhay was just a VERY NICE MAN. He was very involved in the Mid Atlantic Steel Guitar Assn...not only as a manufacturer of one of the finest Pedal Steel Guitars made, but as a particepent in steel guitar functions and offering advice to steelers and musicians young and old. Whenever I saw him...he had a smile on his face..and good words to say about everybody. He will be missed by everyone..but his legacy will be with us.

I have a steel bar with "Marlen" stamped on the flat end. It just became a lot more valuable to me. Leonard will certainly be missed.

I too am very sorry to hear of Leonard Stadler's passing. This is a profound loss to the steel guitar community. I would like to have known him, he has always had a very fine reputation as a good man and as the builder of great-sounding, great-looking steels. May he rest in peace with the Lord. My sincere condolences to his family.
