Well I've had this condition in my Elbow for 5 months now(PAIN)...and finally got it checked out and sure enough.....Torn Cartilage and Ligament damage.
I'm having surgery on Jan. 9th.....and should be ok after that.....
I'm pretty sure Golf did this...ha.....but I continued to play and play music every night......so I was wondering if anyone else has had trouble with the Elbow from playing???
Wish me luck.....and hopefully I'll have a new Elbow outta the deal.....ha

More than likely caused by dragging that heavy, old Fulawka around!

All the best to you, Little Brother.

That sucks. Arthroscopic? (or however you spell that). This holiday beer drinking is taking a toll on my pitching elbow.

Golf is hard on the joints. Around 20 years ago, after spending a day pounding balls with only a 2 iron (I used to practice a lot), my left elbow got really stiff and sore. It didn't go away so I went to the doc. He gave me some steroid pills and I quit playing for two weeks. I was lucky and it went away. I finally did have to go under the knife for my neck in '98. When I started playing again, I tried to get more of a David Duval move and release my head. It's that darn repetitive motion that wears out the joints, and golf demands a maximum coil, release and extension that doesn't do your body any favors. We steelers will probably have thumb problems at some point.

No Graham not the Fulawka and not the Fender Amp and not the ShoBud....it was trying to keep up with the young long ball hitters and trying to hit over 300 yards everytime off the tee....ha
Jon; yes Orthoscoptic surgery....and I'll be good as new.
Yes Dave....golf it very damaging to the joints.....Tiger just had Knee surgery for the same condition as my Stupid Elbow...

Ricky- Take care of yourself, you hear? Don't try to keep up with those young Bucks.

I stopped trying to keep up with you hot pickers about 20 years ago. I just play slower stuff now...Happy Holidays..al

I had a problem a couple of years ago with soreness on top of the left arm below the elbow. I could play using a cuff, but it took a long time to heal.

Worse, now the index finger of my left hand has gone south. It won't close fully to make a fist and is a sore bugger when I try to close it. I've gone to leaving it out of the grip and closing it outside the fingers of the right hand, similar to the putting grip.

The problem may need medical attention but I haven't brought up to my doctor as yet. He might challange me to a game without conceding any handicap for the finger and I'd have to pay him twice. Once for the office and once for the greens.

Ricky,
I had about the same thing about 20 or so years ago. I was golfing a lot as well as bowling a lot. Between the two, it pretty well wrecked my elbow and my wrist. I had to give up both. No regrets even though I really enjoyed them. I never had the surgery done that the doctors wanted to do, but I did wear a long brace from just above my elbow to just below my wrist for almost a year. They still hurt some, but I think it's more to ageing than anything else. That deal with the wrench a couple years ago didn't help things, but I've managed to get around it by paying a little better attention to things.
I wish the best for you. Happy Holidays too.

Gets harder as we get older. Was talking to Ed today, he said to say hello to you and he is anxiously awaiting the video you and Archie are gonna do. He also said he has Bob Luciers new steel on the bench, will be finished this week. Now Bob is talking about a 3rd one!! Ed downloaded and listened to those songs you put up and was quite impressed with your playing. Think you've made a friend! Ha!

All the best with your surgery and speedy recovery!

Ricky...I hope you don't have a rotator cuff problem as I did. I had surgery about 5 years ago and thankfully, I can still play, however I have lost considerable upward motion to my right arm. It will never get any better. Good Luck!
