Remembered as being one of europe's moste tastefull lead and Hawaiianguitarist when it comes to C&W-//-hawaiian -SWING-//-jazz.
Inspired by his hero's :
George de Fretes(hawaiian)-Buddy Emmons-Maurice Anderson-Bobby Caldwell- Grady Martin-Leon Rhodes-Clint Strong-and his brother Bob(hawaiian)
Maurits worked with ao; Rita Goolidge-Toots Thielemans-Steve Young-Clay Blaker-The CountryPickers-the Royal hawaiian Minstrels and other giants all over the world.
He was a inspiration for me(since1959) and speciall for my (younger) brother KOOS BIEL ,(M. played lead on all his albums) ,
Nightriders""Accidentally""-It's a Steel-Tenor/steelmadness and more,, http://members.home.nl/steelguitar/MauritsGuitarFadedLove.mp3

That's a real shame. I have enjoyed the samples of his playing which you've shared on the No Peddlers forum. My sympathies to his family, fans and friends.
