Hi all.
I have bugged a lot of you for info about PSG set up and copedents for months. Finaly I have had my Sho-Bud for a month and have something that's not to bad to listen too. This song convinced me to buy the Sho-Bud.

Not what you might expect, well Crowbear would, but most of you no, so here have a listen if you want. I fear I have started too late to be a great player, but I am getting things I like from it now. progress!

It's a "bluesy island jazz tune" that I started in late january for a Supro 6 melody. Since then I added mandolin, Sho-Bud chords and some nice guitar work. Even has some trumpet from the drummer last friday.
I just uploaded it last night, so if anyone has a problem with the file let me know.

Different...but very "busy" sounding to my ears. (Are there 3 steel tracks in there in certain places?) Anyhow, the "rhythm" steel work is stylistically very close to the lead steel work, so the two seem to "jumble" in certain areas. That could be cured by playing simpler stuff on the rhythm parts, or by making it more of a "counterpoint" lead statement.

Good work, but not what we're used to hearing here.

Qui s'ont vous jusque' je connais vous?

(My high-school French is pretty rotten!)

yeah Only You....

Donny, valid comments.
I did the lead part on the Supro 6 a week after I got it over here, not having it around for 8 years.
I only had the dobro for a long time here.
The Supro never wanted to go on planes well and kept getting left in Mass.

Then I did the C6 Sho-bud backing part after I had been playing PSG for about a month,
but around 4 months after the other part.

The jump to 10 strings, pedal and levers was still quite new then.
I( did try for another tone in general.

Excuse me,

But was there a 2 year gap between posting this track and people commenting on it?

Obviously people were mulling this over carefully!

Be interesting to hear your progress since you posted this. Any updates?

Bill, I have been away from my PSG for 2 months,
though I had a little super short scale, 19.75', lapsteel to pick on in Thailand.

The last thing I did before I left was help Billy Henderson out with a song.
http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum10/HTML/004800.html

Mostly E9, which is less my bag, than C6,
but a short C6 solo in the middle.
I was rather sick all fall & winter, and was just getting back to gear in late Jan and early Feb.

Just got my hands on the Bud today, and it felt like an old friend.
I'm closing house and preping for a move WAY south for an extended gig,
and so I don't know how much recording of my self I will have time for in the near term.

But here is Ten Miles East Of Jones for you.
I did everything but the voices.
Enjoy.

I just remembered another Supro tune I did in late Jan,
I was trying Sol Ho'op'i'i's tuning
http://worldserver4.oleane.com/canardplus/Musique/HoopiiDoopii.mp3

I hadn't tried this tuning in decades,
but was wanting the mental challenge as the cowebs cleared from a bad winter.
So I wrote and arranged this piece.
Ho'opi'i Do'opi'i

2 Supro tracks and a short 6 string electric mandolin solo.
