I was just informed that my great friend of 40+ years has finally receved the sampling of accolades that he deserves.
The "Nashville Reunion of Professional Entertainers" has seen fit to give this great steel player this great award. I understand that Ron Elliott presented Stu with the award.
Sorry, but I just couldn't wait to let the steel players on this great forum know, more in my news letter Monday.
Stu Basore is one of the work horses of the Nashville scene and has been for many many years. A very deserving choice this institution has made.

Stu has always been one of my favorite players. He plays what he should play the right way it is supposed to be played! (say that three times in a row)

Congratulations Stu. You deserve more.

I always loved that signature lick of his in the movie, 'Nashville'; the song was 'Tapedeck in his Tractor'. I thought it was so fresh and original.

Congratulations!

Congrats, Stu. Your turnaround on I just Destroyed the World on Rob Parker's album still sends chills up my neck. I love your Stu's Blues original also. Heck, now that I think about it, I just love everything you play. I hope to hear you play again in the not too distant future. I don't think you have received the credit you deserve in the steel community at large and I am so glad to see you get some much deserved recognition to a life time of devotion to steel guitar.

Way to go STU! You certainly do deserve
the accolades - especially from the guys in Nashville.
I'm sure looking forward to our next weekend; when you will make your yearly visit
to the Louisville area - @ the club; where
you & I get to JAM a little.

Stu, Way to go pal. Congratulations. A very well deserved award. I wish I could have been there. I would have loved to have seen Ron Elliott, But I would probably just laugh. Take care and looking forward to pickin' a few sometime soon. Bobby

Congratualations Mr. Basore!
I too, remember "Tapedeck in his tractor," it's the only song I remember from the movie. Great steel lick, and a great example from a great player.

I have only met Stu, but what a nice gentleman and he plays with such style and grace! Get him to play String of Pearls for you sometime.

Boogie, I love it....and I know it is a big thrill for you and Stu to do "Jammin' with Jimmy" when you get together. What a treat!

Hey Stu sorry for the late reply but somehow this thread escaped me. You deserve this award for all of the great playing you have done over the years.

Congratulations on a job well done!!!!! Are you still going to church in Madison? Since we moved to the church across the interstate I sure have missed you. Remember when we played down in the basement for the potluck dinner? That was a hoot :-)

What can I say? I have known Stu since he was a kid back in France in the 50's. He was a great player on the lap steel and later progressed to Pedal Steel and finally finding his way to Nashville where he has made his way to become the legendary muscician that we hear today. I am so proud that he has received this award and cannot think of anyone I would rather see have this recognition. He has played with so many artist such as Kitty Wells, Dolly Parton, Porter Wagoner, Faron Young and many others including Mandy Barnet at the present. His interpretation and talent are on many recordings that we hear nearly every day are challenging and greatly enjoyed. CONGRATULATIONS, FRIEND. YOU ARE A TALENT TO BEHOLD. GOD BLESS.
