What a blast! Fellow forum members Bob Blair and Don Cuff sat in on my gig tonight. I didn't get any pics of Don - the camera was out of my reach. That's his Emmons - he kindly donated it tonight while I await my Carter, which is somewhere between here and Las Vegas.

This is the steel forum in action. Bob and I first met here on the forum, and when he came to town this weekend we hooked up and had a great time jamming. We hung out at soundcheck and chatted about our favourite players and licks. And tonight we all had our paws on that fine machine. I'll let the pics take care of the rest.

A great night, a great band and a great crowd. I enjoyed Chris's latest CD, "Brothers in Stereo", which was a project he did with his brother Andrew, on my Ipod on the flights home. Chris is a very fine songwriter, among his many talents. Happily, on the way home, in contrast to the way out, the flights were all on time. Thanks Chris for all the hospitaity shown to my brother and I by you and your bandmates - Rick had a great time at O'Rielly's on Thursday, and I regret the flight delays that kept me away from that. Hope to see you in St. Louis.

Hey, looks to be a great live music scene out there on the Rock

There's an incredibly diverse and active music scene out there. Another guest who got up on stage at the Ship Saturday night was one of the members of "Great Big Sea". The clubs are all non-smoking, so even when they are jammed like you see in the picture they are still breathable. Wish I'd had more than a couple of nights there (well, three actually, but the first one didn't count since my plane didn't land till after 2 am).

Beware, if you play in this town long enough you'll get that "glazed" look that I have in the above photo.

We like to have a good time, for sure.......
