Those steel players in the UK who are looking for a top quality seat can now obtain them through the UK based Mike Thomas. His products come with or without back rests and are built to a very high standard, and are as good as anything I've seen in the same line. Mike can be contacted on m.thomas933@ntlworld.com.

I bought one of Mike's seats on eBay and I'm very pleased with it. It's pretty heavy but it's extremely tough, very comfortable, looks great and above all is much more affordable than importing one from the states.

Hi Ken and Jonathan, I drove to Swansea today (222 mile round trip) and got one of Mike's seats.Very comfy and incredibly strong,I've decided to do without the back rest.....I've been too used to my old Sho-Bud pakka seat with no back, but that was burned in a fire last year. Mike does a great product and very inexpensive.Much stronger than other brands I've seen.

Well Micky - I'm glad you didn't feel you had a wasted trip. Mike's seats are really solid and well constructed. One of my mates (Tom Bannister) recently bought a seat from the USA, and while it's a nice product by the time he paid the freight price, VAT and import duty he ended up paying £375!!! I could get a leather recliner armchair for that. I think Mike's products are incredible value for money.

I am fixing to get a D2F cover for my seat to protect it from the knocks and bumps of gigging.

Hi Ken, let me know the price from D2F about the cover ok? I had contacted them recently about my "other seat" but that's already scratched up, so it may be a good idea to get one for the new seat from Mike. As Jonathan said, it's a heavy one, but tough as old boots. I totally agree on the prices of imports from the States. This country of ours with it's V.A.T. has us by the short and curlies. I may have to leave it till after Christmas though, you know pressies etc etc. It was a nice trip to Swansea anyway, he's got some nice stuff there, valley arts guitars etc etc, and he breeds "Maine" coon cats, they are gorgeous and "Huge" Cheers for now.
