WRONG...If Leo had listened to me,,he would have been much more sucessfull. The tripod
design was discontinued. Read my post..re
"The Middle Leg" Rick my man,,,,you dont have to call mr Mr. Jody Carver....Jody will be fine. If you knew Leo like I knew Leo.Oh
Oh, Oh. what a guy.

Im able to be a critic,,as a rep for Fender all my life gave me that privledge, Leo always asked for ideas and didnt appreciate
"yes men" I was paid for input from musicians
in the field of battle,,,It was Boggs and myself that told Leo...the tripod design was
not as it was cut out to be ,,,,,not on a Custom. The Dual Pro OK,but the Custom was too heavy to support the weight of the guitar.

I had a 4 legged Custom,,the only one made &
as stubborn as Leo was,,It was Freddy Tavares
who got Leo to do the 4 leg design. I take no offense to your post,,I got paid to offer
suggestions to Fender..I understand your comment....however it dont apply here,,,you have every right to your opinion as well as I have.

Thanks Jody, for the reply. You do have first-hand information for sure. The three leg design just happens to be my preference.

True the Custom was/is very heavy and I think the three legs should spread-out more. I wonder if anyone has tried changing the leg sockets on the Custom with the sockets of a double Stringmaster. This would give a larger base.

The one thing I always disliked about both the Custom and the Dual Pro. is that there is no cut-away along the necks for playing clearance.

Aside from his absolute artistry in making beautiful steel guitar music, Jody's knowledge of the instrument (especially the Fender Story and it's rich history)is second to none.

I've got an idea for the next generation in steel guitar, Jody...how about, The CarverMaster Custom... !

In the meantime, I look forward to your book!

Which would you prefer?? three legs or four legs?

Years back a musician tried to "sue" Fender as he claims his front "middle leg" broke off during playing (he played standing up).
It went to court but the judge ruled it out as the guy didnt have "a leg to stand on"

Every book has "two" (2) covers,,,mine will have four (4) to carry the weight of the long stories therein. Which would you like Jeff? And Rick,,I understand, but legs, sockets,or not,,its a great guitar.

4 for the guitar, 4 for the book
