Latela's has been ok, I love a smokey honky tonk... but the Birchmere is a really fine venue, with installed PA and seating, green rooms, books national acts, has a high profile among the traditionalists and the alternative country crowd who might be wooed to come out to an event like this, besides the hard core steel junkies who always come out...

other than these observations, you'd have to ask Dean Black why the change.

I sure hope this event isn't taking the same road "Nashville,,,or is it "Trashville" did. I enjoyed the up close and personal , one on one type of setting. YEP,,,,,I'm one of those hard line STEEL lovers, and players, and wont change for love or money. I wont forget the cause of this event and plan on being there. I Guess its a wait and see type of thng....
