Russ has done it again.......
His new CD, "TWO MILE PIKE" is FANTASTIC!!!!
From his thumb pickin' on "Panhandle Rag" to sustaining harmonics on "Soft Rain", plus a couple of originals you NEED to hear.

You can order it direct from Russ at;

Russ Hicks
1020 W. Sears Rd.
Pegram TN 37143

Price is $15.00 shipped.

Boy,I can second that evaluation. Just when you think someone has done all they can do,they come along & "top it" again. The thing with Russ is,I know he ain't done yet!!
It's kind of a "collector's item" in a way, since the street that the album was named after,no longer exists. They just renamed it, "Rivergate Parkway". (the street, not the album.)
Don't wait for another "review",order this album TODAY!!

I heard all the way up in Ohio that this CD was so knocked out it will knock the socks of of ya. I would drive a long ways to hear, Russ, Jimmy, and Buck play. NUTT'IN Like ITT. Bob, It would be fun Jammin with them guys, But my little Excel cost to much to get blowed off the stage like that, LOL

I guess that "Two Mile Pike" is the same fast tune that Russ recorded on an old Barefoot Jerry record?

Yup... I gotta' agree whole-heartedly with you guys.

Russ' CD is great (as I would expect from him anyway) and there's no doubt as to who it is who's doing all that cool, bar bouncin', quick pickin' stuff. A nice, fluid tone too. Russ is a stylist all his own and that's still a cool thing nowadays... no 'cookie-cutter' stuff from him.

Russ... are you still cutting with that Mosrite (sp??) amp you once told me you were using years ago ??

Great CD....

Nuff said: I'm getting me one. Soft rain I forgot how much I like that song. But I never forgot how much I like Russ's Picking..."Two mile Pike" the road that is they could name it anything they want. Who uses it anyway since they built the Viet Nam memorial Highway? (well me and Smiley went to Hooters one night).Just once honest, was either that or "gut bombers".

Louie,
I think you have a point there, about Russ' vocalizing.
He should pick and leave the singing to Laney.

Simply stated,,,,one of the best!!!!
Just as good if not better,,, his gorgeous wife, Laney Hicks, has a new CD titled "The Last Letter". I'm in love with Laney.
