Hi Don,

Though I remember nearly everyone I talk to or meet, I don't recall ever telling anyone that the magazine was being printed but, I may have said I hoped it would be printed around then. With my lack of sleep from gigging (where are all the steel players when you need 'em ) I likely could have talked to you and don't remember it, especially if I answered the cell phone while playing on stage. It's hard to remember names of new callers, and what key the band is playing in all at the same time .

Everyone involved in making this magazine a good quality publication is doing this out of their love for steel guitar. There is enough money from subscriptions and advertisers to print each of the issues, but nothing left for operation or actual "labor" involved in publishing, so please be understanding that we might have to make a living in addition to publishing the steel magazine.

I have devoted much of the past two days (the first length of time I've had in many weeks) on the magazine. I can assure everyone it is a very good issue and there is no need for any worry. (Additionally, the August/September Issue is in process now too). The magazine has everything going for it! There is a significant amount to learn, however, and I will be the first to admit that (like playing pedal steel guitar for 28+ years) the more I learn about publishing this magazine, the more I realize the amount that I still have yet to learn! (I have always had high standards, and the magazine is no exception.) The June/July Issue will be well worth the wait!

Now, about the need for steel players downtown Nashville... I've seen John Hughey (just last night) and Doug Jernigan pickin' downtown on more than one occasion... and I guess if I get the call I should go pick, right? I may be wrong about this, but I believe this actually adds to the magazine overall, even though it may be delayed a bit getting into print and then into the mailboxes.

Don, I wonder why you didn't just call me again (like you say you did the first time) and talk to me... anyone who has ever talked to me knows that I am nearly always willing and able to talk (and I'll pretty much always tell you how it is too .) So, rather than post up here, and get a flurry of concern going awry, I wish you had called me (again) so I could have corrected that misunderstanding.

I would really like to thank the steel community (ALL OF YOU) in general for being patient and understanding about the delay of this issue. I can't help it if I love to play that darn pedal steel guitar... shucks

Terry --

You just keep writing, editing, and assembling. We'll wait.

Forgive us if we seem impatient and we'll forgive you for being a little late. We're just worrying -- 60 bucks is a lot of money for a magazine. And we're like kids waiting for Christmas!

Thanks Terry for the prompt response to this. Delays are understandable.

You have my respect for not dodgeing any questions.

I saw a rough outlay of the mag a couple of weeks ago and yes it is worth the wait. That is the weekend that Terry pulled 16 HOURS straight playin down on Broadway. This is a new venture for all of us and it takes time to get things to come together.
