Hey Baz

I haven't got my flyer yet, but I agree its a great lineup. I am on the list of players as well, so I will see you there. Note to everyone - new venue this year.

BUT this is the possibly the last one that Gerry Hogan is organising, so everyone - be there!!!!

Hi Colin... I'm looking forward to this as I never played it before so It'll be my first and last !!
Colin, you are mentioned on the add that gerry gave me for our magazine..BUT... the choice of font is probably not the best for clarity...so...in the magazine I'll change it to ariel or something more legible.
What the centre panel in the advert says is :-Plus
KEVAN BARTHOLOMEW VIC COLLINS
NORMAN FLETCHER (ESP) COLIN GOSS (J)
DAVE HAYWARD GERRY HOGAN
HANS DE JONG (NL) DAVE KIRK
RICHARD NELSON (IRL) PERCY ROBINSON (IRL)

Staff Band
BOB PEARCE - drums
DICK BALDWIN - bass
BERNIE TAYLOR - bass
CHRIS GORE - keyboards
Special Guest
BUTCH MAHR - vocals

I notice Norman Fletcher is coming.. he's living in Spain now so all the "Aloha Dream" members will be looking forward to seeing Aldyth and Norman.

Andy,

Gatwick and Luton are roughly equi-distant from Newbury - Heathrow is a lot closer than either.

I cant' go this year, but last year I flew Ryanair from Frankfurt Hahn to Stanstead, rented a car there drove to Newbury (about 2 1/2 hours) The whole thing was dirt cheap if you live near a Ryanair hub.

I was really looking forward to hearing Jeff Newman here...
Alas.

I hope we can have the moment of silence some one has mentioned in another thread.

Followed by something Jeff might have played.

I have my flights booked and will be there God willin'.
And I know who will be on my mind when I am in the air.

Well I now know I will be seeing John for sure.

It should be a great weekend all around.
A great steel show and jamming on push pulls the night before.

What's not to like!

According to the British Steelies Society website, Hal Rugg will not be well enough to appear on the Saturday, and will be replaced by Doug Jernigan.

Well whoever shows will be just fine.
If Doug J. plays for 3 hours, nobody's gonna gripe,
me thinks.

You know who would really be great.. Jeff Lampert.
Somebody send him a plane ticket...
By far the best player most people don't get to hear live.

Basil check out his stuff on the Rebel Ricky and Jeff website.

If you've heard his stuff, now just imagine him jamming with Doug...

Pretty soon we'll be singin'

"Oh, it's flying time again. we're gonna see you. We are going far away up in the sky. Oh, it's flying time again......"

Apologies to Buck Owens

All kidding aside, we are looking forward to seeing everyone at The British Steel Guitar Festival.

Are you going to be touring England?

There is a dinner waiting for you if you make it 'up north'
