For the upcoming April Jam we have been very fortunate to secure commitments from several players; namely, for the first set we have Billy Poe, Steve Hinson, and Bobby (not Buddy) Spicher, and Loren Nelson.....on the second set (non-pedal) will be Don Helms, Big John Bechtel, Billy Robinson, and Howard White. For the third set we have a strong maybe from Jimmy Crawford and some special guests who are involved with him on his upcoming C.D. called Among Friends. If all of this comes together, and I don't know why it shouldn't, it'll sure be a toe-tappin' evening. If for what-ever reason it doesn't, Smiley has agreed to play all three sets him-self. We'll keep you informed. [This message was edited by Russ Hicks on 15 February 2004 at 08:55 PM.] |

Billy Poe, Thats a name that I haven't heard for years and Bobby Spicher. Are you sure you could take 3 sets of Smiley? Thats a lot of T.O. songs. [This message was edited by John Floyd on 15 February 2004 at 11:10 PM.] |

Hey Guys...Looks like this one is gonna be really good...I know, so what, they all are for sure but when you put one together you like to think you've done something a little special....the main thing I was trying to do was to get new pickers to play, not new but guys that had never played this jam before, and with the exception of our resident 'monster'John Hughey, the first and third set is just that. The third set will be John along with co-H.O.F.ers Walter Haynes and Jeff Newman. The first and second set remain the same as in the first post...it's obviously gonna be a real barn-burner...where else in the world can you get this much top of the line steel for $10.00...or is it $5.00...I don't know, I always sneak in...SEE YA'LL THERE...APRIL 6 |

When I joined the NTSGA I was, and still am, looking forward to meeting these 2 Gentlemen. Maybe the next Jam would be a good time for us to pull this off. How bout it? Not offering the whole olive tree, just a branch off the olive tree. |
