I know we've had a lot of responses to the Georgia Peach Jam that happened this last weekend but I felt compelled to add my 2 cents as well. It was a memorable day for a lot of reasons. First of all, it was the culmination of a lot of work for the folks behind the show, the Georgia Steel Guitar Association. They were expertly guided by the board of directors including Roger Crawford, Wade Medlock, Tom Moorman, and my lovely wife Donna Dodd. I couldn't be prouder to be a part of their first show and it was excellent in all regards. Personnaly for me the most memorable momoment will be the feelings I had sharing the stage with an amazing young man named Brett Day. He has more courage and determination than any one I've ever met and is an inspiration to all those that have met him......either in person or by reputation. I am not sorry I could not hold back the tears when Brett sat next to me on stage and overcame the tremendous adversities he has to play his beloved steel guitar in front of the audience we had last Sunday. I've played a lot of stages in my +40 years of being a musician but I was never more moved than our time at the Jam last weekend. Thank you Brett. Here are some pictures I borrowed from Ernest Cawby

Looks like a great show! For us on the other side of the globe, would you mind telling us who's is who? I recognise Brett Day on the Emmons, but who are all the others? Any recordings available? ------------------ |

OK Peter, I've added the names of the innocent and the guilty. Too bad you couldn't be here for the jam. We had such a great day. Maybe next time, eh? |
