Is there such a thing as a Steel Jam Calendar? If not I would like to put one together so members can see the jams that are taking place around the country on each weekend far enough in advance to make plans.

Like many people, I have friends and relatives all over the country and knowing there was a steel jam nearby would give me an additional reason and motivation to go visiting.

If no calendar exists, send me the dates of the jams in your area along with a contact name or names and e-mail addresses and I will get something put together over the next month. I would prefer you e-mail me the dates.

Once I have some dates I will ask Bob if would be willing to add a link to it. If not, we can probably figure something else out.

Thanks - Tom

Tom,
I've wondered the same thing! When the Georgia Steel Guitar Association plans dates for our jams, we try desperately not to conflict with other regional shows. There are so many now, though, it's becoming difficult to do. If you decide to take on this task, let me know and I'll certainly keep you posted of our events. This would make a good catagory for the Forum to have, and you for it's moderator! Thanks for the help.

How about putting it in the news section as its own category?

Tom,
That's a great idea! Go for it!

It will also help organisers of new show select dates that won't conflict with others.

Chuck,
b0b probably won't see your request here.
Post over in "Forum Feedback" if you want to be sure he sees it.

Thank you to all who have e-mailed me and placed posts on this item. I am starting the calendar today. The format may evolve and change over time but it is a start. Let's see where it goes and I will respond accordingly.
