How songwriter's came up with lyrics to songs that will live forever. I wondered could this be a talent or could it been something in their soul and life that gave those the inspiration to write lyrics that touch the soul of millions. Perhaps a personal side of their lives put those into the words to those songs they wrote.

I often wondered before, but recently more so.
I'll BE LOVING YOU ALWAYS
I'll BE SEEING YOU
ALL THE THINGS YOU ARE
I'LL NEVER SMILE AGAIN
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER YOU
OH HOW I MISS YOU TONIGHT
LET ME CALL YOU SWEETHEART
I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU
MY BUDDY
and to me,,,I MISS YOU MOST OF ALL WHEN DAY IS DONE touches my heart every day but most of all "When Day Is Done" is what touches me the most. But The Most is "I LOST THE SUNSHINE AND ROSES WHEN I LOST YOU".Thats my favorite of all.

Thanks to Blake Hawkins who was kind enough to send me the lyrics.

and I'm certain that many of you have a certain song which brings back memories of another time and place in your lives. I know they do to me and there are others who have a special meaning to me too numerous to write here.

May the sun shine on your back and warm you as you walk through your lives and the light of Jesus shine in your eyes to show you the way. I know,I saw that light. Why do you think I'm here.

God Bless all of you for trying to help me and you have.Special thanks to Reece Anderson for his support for me and to Mrs
Evelyn Beavers Randy's mom. I think I'm going to make it.

Jody ( I quit again) Carver and still another.."I CANT HELP IT IF I'M STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU. the main reason I am here

If you think I am corny you are right but the corn comes not from the corn fields but from my corny ole heart.

My Thanks and best wishes to all of you with or without pedals. And I really dont care what you wear when you are playing.

TO EACH HIS OWN..

BE WELL. PS I broke my promise.Promises are made to be broken so the saying goes.

Just keep Donna away from me with that Hi Speed hand piece with a 557 fissure burr.

edited to say Please Help Me I'm Falling.
That drill would make a strong man weep.

I'll See You in My Dreams Joey A.Thanks for all the e mails I appreciated every one of them.edited to look for my brains,,I cant remember when I last saw them.oops I just found them. Thanks for helping "Make It Through The Night.

Thanks Jody for sharing with us again,,,and yes we DO know what you mean! When we hear those certain songs we think, "man that's the exact way I've felt before,,,why couldn't I have written that?" I also wonder why hearing a sad song makes me feel "better", I guess it's just knowing someone else has felt the same pain.

And yes we KNOW you will get through this thing,,,,you have His promise!

Thank You Sonny I apreciate what you wrote.

My dad who I loved so much told me when I was just a little boy and I fell down and broke my leg..he said to me.

"You Dont Fail When You Fall Down"
"You Fail When You Dont Get Up."

He was so right and thanks to my family Lorrie and Marie and Casey for helping me get up.

Jody-How great to see you back where you belong again.

That was a facinating post! Those songs were all so meaningful in those days.

I loved them and enjoyed playing everyone of them in those days, and even got paid for it! Both Pedal and Non-Pedal.

I played some of them in my music room last night, just to see if I still could. And what do you know? I still could! Amazing!....al

And now for Music Lovers only.....I dedicate this to the incomparable spectacular world renowned artist of the steel guitar..Sir Smiley Roberts and it goes like this........maestro?? a nice old song with "feeling"

You made me love you
But you got me drunk to do it
You made me love you and all the time you knew it.I know you always knew it.

You make me happy Sometimes and sometimes you make me feel so blue

Yet there are times dear you make me feel so true.
You made me cry for
I didnt want to do it
You made me die for yes you did and all the time you knew it.

So gimme gimme gimme gimmie what I cried for I know ya got the kisses that I'd die for , you know you made me love you...(tag) and your a sweetheart ya da da da da.....you know you made me love you......

You DAWG YOU so maybe I loused up the lyrics,,what do you want from an old man?

Al Jolsen ? God rest his soul

Welcome Larry
Dont beleive all that you hear. I am greatly overated as a steel player and any other things you may have heard.

There is a western swing band back east here in Connecticut by the same name as your group. They too call themselves "GunSmoke" and they do some real great western swing.

You dont have to call me Mr.Carver it makes me feel old just as everyone else does call me Jody OK? I do want to commend you for the respect you show. But Jody will make
me feel young. Some people on this Forum call me other things but I wont get into that Good luck on this Forum you will learn much from the knowledgable people on here and not very much from me I'm sorry to say,,welcome aboard and have fun.

Thanks and remember the name is JODY

Jody: In answer to your question about how songwriters come up with lyrics, I would refer to Hank Locklin, who in my opinion is one of the greatest.

He belived, as I do, that the songs come from a higher power, from God. One just has to be attuned to that wave length.

His favorite saying, "I don't write 'em, I just write 'em down."

Thank you for the welcome Jody,
I ran across this bands web site while trying to set one up for us. First thing I checked was to see if they had a steel.lol...I think they are a 5 pc. and we're only 4. We don't do as much swing as I would like, but we do a couple of Bob Wills tunes, and Ginger, my wife and our bass player does a terriffic job on Patsy's version of FADED LOVE,tons of Ray price and Merle. Now that's COUNTRY!! Looking forward to a lot more fun playin, and a good time here on the forum.

Gunsmoke does have a fine steel player in Jeff DiMaio,he plays an Emmons pp guitar and he and Scott Tyler who is the lead guitarist do some real tight twin guitar work. They are well rehearsed and overall they are excellent.

Good to hear from you.

Have a goodnight

WHAT??? where does it say I recorded Poinciana show me....I do play it but have never recorded it..your thinking of Der Bingle Bing Crosby not me. Show me...edited I guess I did record it after all. Vaughn Monroe 1951 RCA..it paid scale.
$2.00 per note,I played 4 notes you figure it out I dont have my calculator.

Vaughn Monroe hogged the tune while I sat like a dummy but got paid...the total was $4.75 I forgot the overtime . Your Voice speaks to me of Love. All I did was a glissando where he sings "Trade Winds" and Magic fills the air,,,it was magic they paid me
