I didn't get to go, but my brother, who lives in Dallas, did. He took some nice pictures of the show that you might enjoy.

NOTE: He's not a steel player nor is he a fan of country music so his comments are from a "civilian" point of view. He had no prior familiarity with any of the players or their music.

Great photo essay. Thanks for posting it.

I'll wager your brother knows something about Mandolin, based on a few of his captions.

That is some funny commentary!

"cheesy carousel"

"he played real sweet in a cornball way"

"I didn't know Bill Gates made steel guitars"

Great photos that capture the moment.

Bob, Is there anyway to get all the pictures on this site. About half of them didn't come thru. Don't know if it's just me or if it's that way for everyone. Donna

I read where this was a non-smoking event.
Did the non-smoking thing stick?
Nice pix! Thx!

Hey, Bob, Great pictures of the Dallas show. Wish I could have been there, but the pics gave me an idea of how great it was. Thank your brother from all of us who couldn't attend. Michael in the Ozarks.

What great pictures and wonderfully naive captions. By the looks of it the "Just for Men" hair coloring booth could have cleaned up: didn't see a non-grey hair in the bunch.

Although I disagree with your assessment, the gentleman playing in a "cornball" way was Terry Bethel, who filled in for Tom Brumley.

I had the same problem. Try right-clicking on the empty picture space. When the menu box comes up, select "Show Picture." This worked for me. You'll have to do it for each picture...

I missed the TSG Show this year, but I will make it a point to make next years show.

By the way how is the person coming along with the comprehensive schedule for all the steel guitar shows & jams around the country?

Sorry if anyone had problems viewing the photos. Traffic had exploded on my brother's site and there was a little hiccup in service. Just try again.

And I'll post this note from my brother, Jack Knetzger, who created the photo essay:

Jack sez:

My apologies to Terry Bethel and his fans. As my brother said, I don't
know country music, so I wouldn't know real cornball if I heard it (Junior
Brown?). Let me just say that Mr Bethel played his thing beautifully
before a full house and got a standing ovation.

Also thanks to the 1,000 or so folks who have surfed my web site. C'mon
back, y'hear!

Bob and Jack,
No apology necessary.
Mel used to say a lot worse things about my playing on a regular basis.
Thanks for the pictures, even though I was there I didn't get to see as much as I wanted too. The tour from the pictures was very nice.
