![]() MORE DATES ADDED... I'm heading out on tour with Ryan Adams and the Cardinals in a few days and I thought I'd post the dates for the first leg here on the Fourm. There will be many more dates coming up and I'll post them here and on my web site: www.graboff.com/sched_page.htm as they are forwarded to me. Hope to see some Forumites out on the trail! ![]() Hey Jon, Have a great tour. You should set up a weblog (Blog) someplace and keep us all apprised of your life on the road. Are you traveling by bus? I was just reading on another thread about what "fun" that can be... Take care, JC |
Jon Graboff Member From: NYC, NY |
![]() Jim, I may add a journal page to my web site but right now I've got my hands full trying to learn 50-60 songs and get my gear together for what amounts to a year long haul. Ryan is releasing 3 records this year (I played on #2), so we have a lot of "product" to support! The first cd to come out (next week I believe) is called "Cold Roses" and features some great non pedal playing by Cindy Cashdollar. We will be traveling by bus. Two of them. One for the crew and one for the band. Very luxurious! There will be the 5 band members and the tour manager on board so the bean burrito factor mentioned in another thread may be minimized, I hope! Anyway, I'll try to keep anyone interested up on the latest news from the road. Jon |

![]() Malcolm, Great hearng from you. There's nothing on paper yet for the UK but it looks like we'll be over in mid-summer. I'll keep you posted and get in touch when and if things swing your way. My best to the rest of the Radio Sweethearts and hope to see you all soon. Cheers! Jon |

![]() 'bout time you came out. I was getting near to posting one of those gossip column 'blind items'----a certain steel guitarist and multi-instrumentalist has been seen coming out of rehearsal studios booked by a certain star with the inits. R.A. Could there be big news in the works? Fortunately I don't have to make up anything so dumb now. So cool! |
Jon Graboff Member From: NYC, NY |
![]() Jon, I told you a while back that I wasn't going to say anything until I was sitting on the bus. 'Cause some mighty funny thngs have happened in the past as far as countin' chickens, etc. But the bus pulls out the day after tomorrow to do some press and radio stuff, so I figured it was close enough to be safe. Thanks for keeping the lip zipped. You're a pal. Jon |

![]() hmmm.... actually more like 9:30. This timeline is a bit off -- it says you responded at 6:37. I know we like to get up early to practice, but this is ridiculous... |

![]() For someone like me who has quit his weekly gig in order to sit at his terminal and check in on the forum so that I might vicariously live large, following your exploits and hijinx in the world of sex drugs and rock and roll, that's a sorry road journal. "bump". That's all ya got? |

![]() You made that JCH sound real good last night in Cleveland Jon. Tasty playing. I also dug it when you broke out the Rickenbacker. Great show. (but tell that bass player to eat a sandwich once in a while! |
Jon Graboff Member From: NYC, NY |
![]() Hey P, thanks for the thumbs up on last nights show. Ryan often starts songs you've never heard before or never learned, and that was the case last night. He started an old Whiskeytown song "Jacksonville Skyline" during his solo portion of the show and motioned to me to join him. Well, I was given a list of 50-60 songs to learn before the tour and that wan NOT one of them. Talk about flying by the seat of your pants! Don't know the song and it's just an acoustic guitar and YOU. No egg on the face (this time). I've added some new dates to the original post. More to come... UK, Europe, Japan and Australia and West coast, stuff followed by more Europe in the fall. Having a blast! I've got Jimmie Crawford sitting on my shoulder (ouch) every night when I sit down behind the trusty ole JCH! Jon G. [This message was edited by Jon Graboff on 05 May 2005 at 10:42 AM.] |

![]() Jon, I see that you guys (ya’ll) are playing “City Stages” in B’ham, June 19th. Very Cool. If you’ve never been to City Stages, it is a well-thought-out venue that takes place on the downtown streets of Birmingham. Several city blocks are roped off so that MANY stages can be erected. Almost any kind of live music can be heard this weekend. Fun will be had by all! You can always count on a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd . . . I’ll try to wade through and say hello. G’luck on the R.A. tour. Knock ‘em dead! Larry |
Tim Bridges Member From: Hoover, Alabama, USA |
![]() Larry kinda exagerrated; we'll have our one street roped off. We'll water down the roads to keep the dust from being to bad. Seriously, great event. I think ya'll will enjoy the event. Just play "Sweet Home Alabama" (kidding of course, but alot of truth). Will this be all new material, or will it incorporate some stuff from Whiskeytown, etc.? If you guys do any older RA stuff, how about "Excuse Me". Thanks and really look forward to seeing ya'lls performance. I do highly recommend eating at Dreamland BBQ. The best ribs anywhere...yes, anywhere! |
Jon Graboff Member From: NYC, NY |
![]() Hey guys, I've been to Dreamland BBQ and my mouth is watering as I think about it. You never know what Ryan will want to do during a show. So as far as old stuff, your guess is as good as mine. They guy has written about 600 songs already and he just turned 30! By all means, stop by and say hi. Usually the best place is by the bus after the show. It's the Mandarin Orange one. Looking forward to it! Jon |

![]() David, thanks for the nice words about the show the other night. I've been having a ball on this tour. Lawrence, no NYC dates yet but it'll happen eventually. We'll probably do multiple nights but when? Your guess is as good as mine. And, we're on the Letterman show on the 25th! Jon |
