Billy Phelps again has graciously TOTALLY redone all of our pickup sound samples in order to include the all of the pickups we offer. These now include our previously popular pickups and these 3 new pickups: - the George L's Tommy White (TW-10) pickup
- Lawrence XR-16 (10-string)
- Lawrence XR-16 (12-string)
These 3 new pickups are still fairly new so many folks have not yet heard them ... we will have them on Carters to try out at St. Louis (also we had them at Saluda, Dallas, and Tulsa recently). Here is the page with the samples: Steel Guitar Pickup Comparison Sound FilesWe have also updated the descriptions page, which you will find here with a photo link, as well: Carter Steel Guitars' Standard and Optional Pickups with Descriptions/Comparisons. We welcome your feedback. Thank you for your feedback, Al I just downloaded several MP3 files from the samples page, in 2-3 seconds each on my DSL connection. However, it may take awhile longer over a standard modem or on other slower internet connections, as indicated by the large file sizes noted next to each MP3 file. To allow the high-quality sound, large files were necessary and patience may be required. I am not sure why you could not download some of them ... they all download for us and others who have tested them. You might talk with your local computer expert to troubleshoot that for you. Again, we thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback |

This is weird, the page I clicked on and played the mp3 files on the Carter page changed. The pickups are different now, and the song is different. When I orginally wrote the question, the pickups were George L's and Bill Lawerence. There was a 710 and a 910 I believe and the True Tone wasnt up there. The song that was up there before was a little shuffle. Too Weird!!!!! Thanks though Donny. Ray |

The sound samples were recently redone by Billy Phelps at our request and I finally got around to updating the sound samples page to reflect the new pickups we offer. We stopped offering the 910 and 710 a while back. The old song was the ever popular, highly recognizable steel guitar classic "A way to survive".
