I own an 11 string ZB Custom.....I have had it for about fifteen years and am curious as to what year it is. Could it perhaps be hidden within it's seria number.....it's a double neck, two knee lever model with eight pedals...it was finished in a birds eye lacre green...tnx for any help...

Alan, After talking to another steel historian, he suggested "cutting the steel in half and counting the rings in the wood."
This won't work with the new "Tupperware" style of steels now being made though.
