Just received my June/July issue today. What a great magazine. I encourage any and all steel players to help keep this magazine going, by subscribing. Especially of interest to me is the feature article on The Williams Guitar Company, because on page 23 there is a photo of a red Williams S12, the picture was taken just a few days before I picked this guitar up. There are many different makes of steel guitars and I believe they are all good, and I want to tell you that the one you see in that picture is fun to play, fun to look at, and fun to own. Unbelievably, my wife was along when I bought it, and she actually approved (no strings attached). PSG is a great hobby.Leon Eneboe |

uhh... running a bit behind are they? Don't mind me... I'm certain it is an excellent magazine. After being stuck holding a paid up two year subscription for the previous steel mag, I just have zero tolerance for late issues, issues rolled into the next quarter, etc. Hopefully, they will get it on track for their subscribers. I wish them all the luck in the world.

Thanks Leon, It's folks like you who I and Sharon are doing this for. Thanks! S.S., quote:

I am sure glad God gives us all at least one chance (which is more than you gave me) quote: God Bless, Steve Stallings
If just 2/3 of those who stated they would support this magazine had actually put their money into the subscription they committed to, the magazine would not have been temporarily made into a hobby and the issues would have likely been received on time. We will get things together, but I am certain people who have attitudes like yours will not ever be enjoying our magazine... since I have a ZERO TOLERANCE for NEGATIVITY. Excuse me? I never said I would support your magazine and I was not being negative. Terry, either you are a business or you aren't. Believe me when I say that this forum has heard every conceivable excuse from folks holding themselves out to be publishers. If you in fact are a business, then you most certainly can expect to be held to a certain standard. This is not negative Terry, but factual. If you read my initial post Terry, it has nothing derogatory to say about you or your magazine. If you infere anything but a gentle joke and good wishes, I am sorry. I made a bit of a joke about your tardy issues and then wished you all the luck in the world. I strongly suggest you get someone with a little thicker skin to interface with the public. ------------------ God Bless, Steve Stallings www.thenightshiftband.net

Perhaps you'd like to offer? Gig takes up about 400+ hours a month and the pay is $0... but, you get to hear people who have nothing to do with you or your work take pop shots (they call cracking jokes) about things they have nothing to do with, and obviously know nothing about. Now, why don't you name some of those "claim-to-be-publishers" and "untrue statements they made, or misrepresented" and let's see how they might be related to me. I think you've stepped on a sore spot with me, and I don't like when people claim to be "holy" by using "God Bless" and actually aren't even remotely close with their facts! If you had seen the posts I put up here regarding "whether or not" there was enough support for a magazine (which you obviously didn't read if you did see it) you would know how off base you are with your critism. In addition to the subscribers and advertisers who followed through on their committment with monies, I added considerably with my own funds in getting this issue and the last one out. If you've got nothing good to say, and you haven't been waiting with money backing it, keep shut. I hope the people who purchased it love it when they get it. And, I will keep on publishing it for the folks who appreciate it (and actually purchase copies). Terry Wendt[This message was edited by Terry Wendt on 20 October 2003 at 05:03 PM.] |

Terry, Your retort is inflamatory, crudely composed and shows significant angst against an imaginary slight. I have read multiple posts of yours on this forum and am familiar with your writing style, so I'm not too put out by it. However, I must caution you that your last comment is clearly a personal attack. I have claimed nothing and done you no harm. If in fact you are so worried about your venture that a simple aside is construed as some harsh criticism, then that is regrettable. I sincerely hope you do well.Your comment about me claiming to "be holy" is repugnant and quite frankly, shameful. I have no desire to debate my faith with you but I am praying that you will find some inner peace to deal with this anger. Sir, If I were you... I really would step back just a bit here. I apologized to you in my first reply. Somehow, that has generated an even angrier outburst from you. I meant you no harm or ill will. I guarantee that you are coming off as a bit of an oaf here, winning no converts to your magazine. ------------------ God Bless, Steve Stallings www.thenightshiftband.net

I resigned my position as contributory writer for this magazine. I could not morally be part of a business venture that takes people's money and then ignores delivery dates. I was a staff writer for Steel Guitar World magazine for eight years. Terry, you must learn in business that there are no excuses. YOU took this project on. It is YOUR responsibility. As many of you know, I have run my own business for many years. I never make promises that I cannot keep. Hence my success. Terry, I think that you have taken something on that you were not prepared for. Yelling at Steve, me, or anyone else only makes things worse. Calm down. |
