Too bad, it was a 10-10-16 Permanent from the early '60s. I have Bobby Garrett's 11-11-16 that's in the early stages of restoration. |

This finally solves it!!! Time travel is truly possible. Aliens landed on the the Earth in the late sixties and traveled back in time to the days of the cave man. If you watch closely in the first few minutes of 2001 A Space Odyssey, the scene was played out by the apes beating on something with bones. Now we know what the something was. Arthur C. Clarke did have advanced knowledge of this in order to have it in the book nad the movie. |

That's devastating, triple neck permanent Sho Buds are rarer than hen's teeth. You're all laughing now at that poor ol' thing, but as new that guitar was the King of The Hills. If all the parts were there I'd take the chance on restoring it, but seems like the headstocks ( at least ) are not there. |

It is indeed a rare guitar. I have a Triple 9 in my collection and I believe only 3 were made.it would be a very hard job to restore this guitar, especially with original parts. Ed Naylor Steel Guitar Works. |

Bill, yes, 8 pairs and it had/has 3 pedals for that neck. The 16-string headstock is a marvel in itself. Mine has cabinet ends where the ends, the aprons and the necks are Brazillian rosewood and the top plates are birdseye. From a scavenger point of view, the pickups, if they work, and the tailstocks, the pedal board and the legs have some value. The wood might be salvageable and would most likely be a better quality than current wood. The changers on those things are pretty rudimentory, that being little more than bar stock with a couple of holes as well as the pillow blocks, so..... I think "RIP" is written on the case. In fact, I don't think it's a case at all. It looks like a tombstone. But the seller can't be all bad if he was willing to put all that pretty red ribbon so this fine steel would look even purtier for the buyer.[This message was edited by Duncan Hodge on 12 September 2004 at 06:36 AM.] |
