I have a 2002 Carter BCT and today some one came over and asked me to see the BCT on the guitar. I turned the guitar over, and could not show him the BCT. We could not find it? Where is at on the guitar? I had a 94 and could not see anything more than was on that guitar, and it did not have one. |

Sonny......There really is nothing to put your finger on....BC.. = Body Contact....The fingers of the changer press up against the body when the strings are pulled or lowered.. BC...Bud Carter,,,,says it adds to to tonal quality of the guitar.....Go to the web site and resd more about it.. JD |

Thanks , I went there and read about how great it is, but forgot about the Body Contact of the changer. That helps out some. |

Actually, the fingers are in contact with the body UNTIL you raise a string(s). Then that raise finger(s) pulls away from the body.------------------ John Fabian Carter Steel Guitars www.steelguitar.com www.steelguitarinfo.com www.carterstarter.com |

So when playing strings 4,5,and 6 for an example.Pedals down.Do those stings have less sustain,a more watered down tone than string 4 which is still in contact with the body??Regards..........bb |

I've never noticed a change in String Sustain or Tone from the pedals down to the pedals up position on my BCT Carters..I have strummend a non-BCT Carter next to a BCT, unamplified, and noticed the BCT model was much louder and sustained longer. |

Bobby,No. Because the raise fingers wrap around the changer axle, there is usually a raise finger (on one side or the other of the control finger) in contact with the body. |
