Hey gang. I just picked up an old Fender cable guitar for $100. No case and not the original finish. The serial # is 00593. Any idea when it was made? Is it a 400?It's missing one pedal. It also looks like it has some added cross shafts for 3 knee levers but the levers and pullrods/cables are missing. Possibly the added parts are MSA. Anyway, I'm looking for info on set up and adjustment. What tunings were common for those guitars? Also if anyone has a source for parts I would appreciate it. Thanks! ------------------ Dave Zirbel- ZB Custom D-10 8 x 5, S-12U Kline 7 x6, Dobro Cyclops reissue, 1967 Fender Telecaster, Webb 6-14E, Fender Super Reverb, PV NV112 The Mother Truckers The Cowlicks

Yes, that'd be an old "Pedal 400" Fender, from about 1960. Should have a solid-rod bridge and nut (unless it was later upgraded). Four floor-pedals were standard, and since they never offered any kind of knee levers, many owners cobbled together whatever they could to make them. Sounds like the previous owner of your's gave up, or bought a newer steel!Neat little guitar to fool around with if you get it back in playing condition! |

Thanks Donny. Yes it has the solid bridge and nut. Do you know how to tune the stops these things? I see some small screw heads on the endplate.DZ |
