Made the trip to Dallas yesterday and picked up my new MSA Legend. WOW what a guitar, it plays and sounds like a dream. Maurice, Kyle, and Johnny were great to work with, and Johnny set this guitar up perfectly, just like I wanted it. Normally I have to tinker with a guitar a couple of weeks to get it to fit and sound just right, but not this one, it was great right out of the case the first time. Thanks MSA guys for a job well done.

It was on display in the MSA room at ISGC, but here's a picture in case anyone missed it.

Nice guitar! I noticed that right away when I went into the room. After seeing this and the real wood MSA's it took me all of 10 minutes to decide to buy one. Guess I'm partial to wood and inlays. Mine is 8F + 8K also but in solid red.

Ricky, it's true Darvin has "one of everything" now, but Mike Weirauch has TWO of everything currently being manufactured, by my count.

That "burst" from almost clear to solid red reminds me of the burst that Rickenbacker uses -- they call it "redburst." I've always thought it looked great on their guitars, and it sure makes for a sweet looking steel. Congratulations!

Steven, I always heard "You get what you pay for" and that certainly fits in this case. It wasn't cheap, but it is a fantastic guitar.

Herb and Ricky, yes a lot of guys have more steels than I do, but there ain't none of them "purtier". My collection of 6 stringers and basses, would probably give most pickers a run for their money.

Jeff, I got the idea from a Gibson ES135 that I liked the color of. I've always been partial to red guitars, and I like the wood to show through too.

Greg, when you get yours, send me some pictures. I know you'll be pleased.

I saw Darvin's guitar up close, and yes, it is one "purty" guitar! The photo really doesn't do it justice.

I personally am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new Super Slide non-pedal, which should arrive on Monday or Tuesday. In basic black, of course.

Being an emmons person for thirty years, I hardly ever look at another guitar with more than a glance. I must say that this guitar is not only a beautiful instrument, but the action seemed to be as good as any guitar I ever sat down at. We also must remember that these wonderful people give one of our fellow players, who was less fortunate than some of the rest of us, a very expensive guitar.

Hi Darvin. I was in the MSA room all weekend talking trades and guitar features with our customers. Your guitar and the "Old Glory" guitar were magnets to visitors as they entered the room. Congradulations on your new guitar, and I hope you enjoy it for many years to come.

What is the difference between the Legend and the Millenium? And in the MSA website, why, when the products button is clicked on, only the Millenium shows up? What is the difference in pricing?

The Millenium is made of 21st century composite materials. The Legend, as the name implies, is made of the old, obsolete, 20th century material referred to as "wood".

My guess is that, to MSA, it's not a marketing priority. They clearly know how to market the Millenium.

None that I'm aware of.

Michael W....Thank you for your interest and questions concerning MSA.

You will find the Legend does indeed have a seperate place on our website which you can visit, as does the Millennium and SuperSlide.

And by the way, the MSA website was considerably updated just yesterday, and additional updates are underway.

If for any reason you cannot obtain all the information you are looking for, please write me at the address shown on the website, and I can assure you, you will receive a prompt response.

Dave P....Thank you for taking the time to respond to some of the questions Michael had.

Hey guys, thanks for all the great comments about Darvin's new Legend. I will try to answer a couple questions. Just yesterday afternoon we did some updating to our website. The site now has an area for Millennium, Legend and SuperSlide guitars. The Legend and Millennium are priced the same, $5295.00 for a D-10 with 8X5 for example. The complete price list is on the site. The guitars are the same mechanically with the body being carbon fiber on Millennium and wood on the Legend.
Feel free to check out the site.

To Reece and David P.----thanks for the responses. Reece, I sent you a photo approx. 6 weeks ago of my Vintage XL with the pearl inlay on the front panel that was inlaid after I received the guitar way back when. I sold the guitar three weeks ago, and now I am getting awfully itchy again!!!! I only wish that I could find someone close to me that has a new Legend or Millenium, so that I could get a sense of the feel of the guitar.....

Michael W....Thank you for playing an MSA in the past. I'm not sure if there is a Millennium or a Legend close to where you live.

The Millennium has been on the market for only about three years, and the Legend about a year, consquently many have not had the opportunity to play one....

I respectfully suggest the next best thing (which many have done) is to examine our website carefully and ask the opinions of the ever growing list of new MSA owners.

Reece, Johnny, & Kyle,
I noticed on another Legend, the MSA logo was inlayed with what looked like wood and mother-of-pearl. On Darvin's it seems to be a metal inlay... Is one standard and the other an option??

Grant- The seven piece aluminum MSA emblem is standard on the Legend and the pearl inlay version is optional. www.msapedalsteels.com

Well I took the Legend to church today and played it with the band. We played two services this morning and one tonight, and it performed great, I still can't get over how good this guitar plays. It got a lot of comments too on how pretty it is. I'm a happy camper.

Astounding quality in this guitar, I mean , ASTOUNDING!
The old MSAs weren't even close to these guitars. Not even close, in any way.
This new model is, well, just look at them yourself. Legend? It all ready is.
The tolorences are "space age".
I can hardly wait to hear one of these beautiful steels. Anyone loan me some good Birdseye for thirty years or so?

I'll even sign this post,

Here's a picture of the Legend and the Gibson ES137 that inspired the color. I sent MSA picture of the ES and they matched it pretty close. Both of these are great guitars.
