I tried to compose an example of bad music to be funny to people who really know music. It is keyboards not steel. Here is a sample off my CD. I sat down to practice and turned on the recorder. I just played what ever came to me and had no idea what I was going to hear. When I flubed a key or hit a real clinker that became a "lick" so I did a whole phrase using that flub as if I meant to do it. Thirty Three minutes went by before Gribrials horn showed up and sounded the dying heartbeats of this one of a kind work of something. I dont know what it is. I could never do it again. It is keyboards not steel. I post it in the Humor section because it was an attempt to compose a really good bad tune. It is different although this clip cant really show that by its self. If there is any intrest at all I will post more or even send a CD to you just to get some feed back from professional players. I only have five copies to send so it would be the first five that email me. That would be funny its self if not even one person asked for one. I'm waiting for the clip to come in.... I have DSL and I'm still waiting.... Gordon, it would really facilitate playing of your clips if you would use a more effecient form of soundfile. This is a .wav file, the first and biggest kind of audio file... mp3, windows media or realaudio are much smaller and quicker. If you need help converting wav files to mp3 or other file type, I would be glad to help, or there are many others here who could help you with how to do it. Ah, file's in now. Hey Gordon, if this is your "bad" playing I'd like to hear your "good". |

Gordon, I really liked it! but that's because I compose the same way (I call it 'decomposing'--I've reached that age as well). It's great when you follow your subconscious and a 'mistake' becomes a new phrase. I like the changes it produces. Now, writing a melody; that's tough. |

Thank you Charlie. Glad to know someone else does this too! Decompose huh? Ya know this could catch on and become the new fad and finally shove rap out the door. Just think music designed to be wrong in terms of music, and an irratation to listen to. Just think,Decomp could be right in there with, Rock, Grunge, Rap ..... Never mind..yeah..I see...Its already there... ------------------ |

I wish my "noodlings" were as musical as your deliberate bad tunes ...seeing as this is thr humour section, reminds me of a joke... Tourist goes to Moscow and visits the home Tchaikovski. He's led around really enjoys the tour. At one point he opens a door and sees what looks like the composer himself sitting at a desk erasing a musical score. The tour guide grabs him by the arm and takes him away from the room. The tourist sputters: "But wasn't that... I thought he was dead?" "Shhh..." says the tour guide "we musn't disturb him. He's decomposing" |

Victor Borge was quite the master at screwing up a tune, hilariously. |

Ray, When I was growing up if Victor came on the TV I dropped what I was doing to watch him. He was the greatest! ------------------ |
