Following some discussion in Bar Chatter about John Hughey's nice version of "Indiana", I thought i'd post this. It would
be presumptuous for me to say this is exactly the way Mr. Hughey plays it, but it is an interpretation of the way he plays the head. Any comments/suggestions welcome.
First string is D. Pretty standard changes, 3 picks.

you've taken the time to tab out. II've been saving them for a rainy day. I don't have a guitar with a C neck currently, but I'm getting itchy to play C6 again. cheers,

I'd be interested in knowing your opinion as to how close it is, or if you have changes you think you'd make.

It is a nice work on this tune. But I am old and use G on top, explain the different with a D on top. And cane you do that in Swedesh I be glad. I play this on E9th i F. But on C6 is not the same. A big THANK YOU. |

Hi Bosse,
I've never used a G on top of C6, but I know lots of great players that do.
For this tab, you can use your 7th pedal to raise the 3rd string to D instead of using the first string open. I realize this also raises your 4th string to B as well, but that would form a 13th chord, which would be permissable in this arrangement.

This "G or D on top" problem is one of the areas where the universal tuning is great because it has both which comes in very handy. |
