I've been trying to talk one of the bands I work with into doing this tune. For one, it's a nice tune. Secondly, there just aren't enough shuffles out there these days to suit me ! haha
The reason they hesitate to play it: It's a "chick tune". Now, is that dumb, or what ?
Another nice shuffle heard on the radio lately is by Canadian Jason McCoy. It's called "ten million teardrops can't be wrong". I don't know if it's heard on American radio at all, but it's a nice one.
Thanks for the tab, Jeff !

The full-tone raise on the first string is one of the those moves - some players like it, some don't. I think if you play a lot of top 40, and want to copy the solos, you need it. FWIW, I like it.. But I know there are plenty of players who gladly do without it. If you're a traditionalist, you probably have no need for it at all.

What do your 4 knee levers do?

To get the whole tone raise you can pull the first string BEHIND the bar with your left hand.

This works well if your KL is a half-tone raise. Use the KL to get half-way there and pull the rest.

I agree you should have this change if you're doing top40 country.

Check out PF's solo in Keith Urban's "For the Grace of God" for another good example of this pull.

Johnny,
The knee levers seem out of the question. How about putting the change on foot pedal 4? I think Tommy white does this. It's obviously less convenient but it still is workable. And of course you could add a LKR to your guitar. That's all I can suggest.

A lot of people that have the F# to G# change on first string also raise string 2 to E.
