It never ceases to amaze me why a professional music business would lock out a very ripe market of 10 million people in Hawaii from their business; Particularly for Steel Guitars; And then be so crude as to specify "don't ask".

The 3 common shippers (and I suppose most others) handle mainland to Hawaii shipments pretty much the same as any state; There is no extra hassles that I can find. Pay Pal doesn't know the difference. Many of us that do online business in Hawaii don't find any difference in doing online business with folks here and on the mainland. Although, it aslo amazes me how many businesses on the mainland simply brain-fart the existance of the Hawaii market as "foreign, overseas, international, etc.", ... and some that don't even realize yet that Hawaii is a State of the USA !

Since I can't ask, then maybe a bit of tongue-in-cheek PR might make the point. I would expect the same if my web business specified "no sales to Amairka, don't even ask".

The ad for the Rick simply states: "Buyer to pay shipping-Continental USA only. PayPal ONLY. Please don't ask about any other form of payment." I've had problems shipping to Alaska, but quite honestly have not shipped any items to Hawaii. Also, I LIKE Hawaii. I've visited, and have friends that live there. You are correct about the steel guitar market in Hawaii, but your quote was incorrect. I'm going to amend the ebay listing to include Alaska and Hawaii. I certainly do not wish to offend anyone.

I'm selling these steel related items for a friend's widow. I'm only charging her 10% to do this, and an additional 2.5% goes to the forum if sold to a forumite. I made them "continental USA only" in her interest, to get her the money as soon as possible. Most items we sell worldwide.

I'd imagine waking up to a few inches of snow and hot stout cups of Chocolate Joe is quite nice for the Christmas Spirit; ...'cept maybe not for the shoppers that have to run the traffic gauntlets through Big Windy (what a 40-year mess ...and dicotomy of emotions!). I drove big trucks Interstate for 18 months many years ago, ...one of them thangs that were on my "must" things to do list, ...and will never forget those 2 winters north of I80-90; Beauty beyond measure from inside the cab ... a rude awakening to reality outside! ------- It's been snowing like crazy here for about 2 weeks ....atop Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa of course ...some flurries atop Haleakala. I hear there's about a foot atop Mauna Kea. Been thinking about taking the kids up there for their first encounter with snow and cold (unless they start jumping up and down with "let's camp out" gyrations!).

So, you had 18 wheels rollin', huh? Did you ever eat at any truck stops in Joliet? I used to play at the Harwood post American Legion, and we stopped at some great stops for breakfast on the way home.

I just got done preparing some food for tomorrow's dinner. The snow was supposed to be south of I-80, so I thought we'd be spared. Not so! It was a wet blizzard, with snow falling sideways because of the high winds. Made the trees look cool.

I guess I like winter, it's my 53rd.
