I've tried most of the more affordable "modern" 8-stringers, and IMO the Dynalaps are the cream of the crop. No need to upgrade tuners, nut, bridge, or pickup. Mine sounds and plays great the way it came-- the scale and string spacing to me are ideal and the Truetone is an excellent pickup. Plus, Mark is a great guy to deal with.

Some prefer the "historic" market...but for this price, it's hard to find a problem-free vintage 8-string steel of the same quality.

I absolutely agree. My sixstring never needs attention, including tuning, and is ideal to play. I love the woods, and think Mark is putting out a very fine guitar. Great sound on recordings, IMO.
