I don't usually endorse products on this forum, but as a owner of (2) Emmons Push-Pull guitars I really feel led to brag on one of my friends and his new product. Bobbe Seymour has out a new video on Emmons P/P tuning and maintenance. It's available from "Steel Guitar Nashville". This videotape is a must have for any Emmons P/P player. It's very informal as Bobbe gives you a step by step tutorial of how to care for your older Emmons guitar. Bobbe explains the Emmons manufacturing history, tells first hand how the P/P mechanism works, how to tune properly, he also shows how to make some of the now hard to find parts. I've watched this tape over & over and I learn something new each time I watch it. It's the most thorough resource I've seen for Emmons P/P guitars. After watching it, I understand why the P/P's are so unique compared to any other guitar. If you own a Emmons push-pull guitar, let me urge you to order a copy of this tape from Bobbe. Since there are now 2 P/P D-10,Emmon's in the household now, a black mica '68 and Oak mica '77. I didn't think was there was anything new about a P/P that I hadn't encountered at one time or another and how to tune, adjust, and care for these fine guitars. I got a copy of Bobbe Seymour's tape on P/Ps and was surprised to find that there were parts that were no longer available through Emmons and Bobbe showed some better substitutions and where to purchase the materials and how to make the part. Great tape! Worth every dime since you'll recover the cost in the replacement parts, lower blood pressure and frustration level when something breaks or needs replacement due to wear. ------------------ |

I had bought an 84 P/P back in November and never having one was totally intimidated by that pretty creature and ordered Bobbe's tape and WOW it became so simple and I am truly thankful for the video and think it is worth more than the asking price because of the valuable info. Thanks again Bobbe, Gary |

Bobbe's video is a 'must see' for any push-pull owner. Bobbe's a hoot, although he didn't cut up as much as usual. Lots of useful info, and a good look at his shop. The real treat are the songs he shared, along with the explainations of how he does 'em. Bobbe's a class act and a real pro, and one heck of a nice guy. I agree with him about the tone of Emmons originals, in that if you have one that doesn't seem to have 'that tone' it is because it is not set up right. All Emmons made have that tone in them. |
