Niel Diamond (once backstage) several times,Tony Bennett in Springfield Mass 1993.Buddy Emmons and Albert Lee with the Everlys at the BIG "E".And Pure Prarie League in NYC. These were the only times I took time off to attend any concerts other than The ISGC and various Steel shows. ------------------ |

Jimi Hendrix Baltimore 1970 Julliard String Quartet The Library of Congress. 1972 Ramones San Francisco 1978 Pandit Pran Nath with Lamonte Young playing tambura at a private concert for Shiek Mustafa Affendi in NYC 1981. Henry Threadgill NYC 1994 I have always gone to as many concerts as possible. These are 5 of them that I walked out a different person than I walked in. Bob ..this is hard..as the music,sound,lighting,and venue has changed over the years. How can you compare a great George Jones playing outside on a Hot day out side in a farmers field near a river or stream in Berry(?) Virginia in 1971 (?) (shortly after his break up with Tammy) and a multi $$$..high tech.air conditioned arena.with ever changing costumes of a Shania Twain and her show stopping multi costume outstanding band (1999)? Wynn Stewart (with the Hag as his backup base player and singing bartenderin the realativley small and smokey Nashville Nevada Club in Vegas (circa 1962-63). The Everly's with Annett Funichelo at a base ball park (Schenectedy,NY Summer 1957 (my first outside concert), a Very very Relaxed Conway Twitty at a Fair Grounds (Gaithersburg, Md)..out side , hot day, small stage with the Twitty Birds..with John Hughey, Porkchop..and company..and Harold is sing and "yes..playing lead" through My Amp! Or Glen Cambell dressed in Elvis like sequined jump suit..singing and pickin' his butt off..Again in Gaithersburge, Md but in an air conditioned Theater in the Round..(late '60s) and Wayne Newton...dress almost as Glen..different show but same place....Again in Gathersburg..The Great Ray Price (with orchestra),,and the ever fantastic "late great"Faron Young"..Late 80's Bocephus at Geenville(S.C>) Memorial Auditorium, George Straight ..same place..Judds and Restless Heart, Same place,, Tanya Tucker/Travis Trit..Spartenburg(S.C>)...oopps that's more than five!!!!! sorry.... I forgot Me Me Mel Tillis, the Fabulus Dottie West in Salt Lake City...Shelly West and David Frizel in Bountiful,Utah I can't forget..Tommy Overstreet with our own Smiley Roberts at the Big Dipper..Beltsville,Md..and a few Military NCO Clubs in Deuchland '70s..Barbara Fairchild, Hank Thompson @ Pirmasens, Germany I can't help it guys ( and Gals) they were all top concerts to me. Good night..The Mrs..say's it's time to go nighty nite!!!! Grouchyvet...looks like Denver Won...the Titans didn't do as good!! |

I've got to add..Ricky!!..I was sitting just under the camera the night Teresa and company taped Loydd and Tommy...eat your heart out...Hal,John,and Weldon are preety good close up also ..as is Herby,Tommy,Johnny&Joan, Buddy C. etc etc.. I forgot Buck and the Roos, Judy Lynn and some others in Vegas.. This is deffinattly GOOG NIGHT... Bob you need to get a SPELL CHECK on here for us guys that CAN"T!!!! |
