I was wondering if anyone can tell me where I can find a "generic contract" which a local band could use for gigs.
Lately my band has been getting a lot of requests from venues to "put it in writing".
Also, any feedback on what we should put in it, should I have to draw one up from scratch, would be appreciated
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Hey Bob!
Last week our contract had us schlep all the way to Carlisle, PA to warm up the crowd for the Achy Breaky Heart guy. His name slips my mind. Anyway, the rain was so intense, we didn't get a chance to entertain the health out of everyone. The star attraction finally went on and as of today, NO CHECK! I guess with a good lawyer, the verbiage on our contract might pursued the promoter to get us paid. The moral of this story is, outside gigs need a clause for unavoidable circumstances, "PAY THE BAND ANYWAY." Shoot, my deposit slip has been filled out now for a week. Hopefully all I'll have to do is scratch in a new date.

Maybe the promoter was somewhat distraught as we all huddled inside a huge trailer during the storm. The afterbirth of a habanero omelet was making its presence known in between all the thunder and lighting. Oh well, gotta do something to pass the time as it poured outside. I wonder if the cash man was able to differentiate thunder and bark with no bite.

BobG............

If you use MS "Word", I will send you the contract we use. We gened it up thru a local Attorney.

It's a simple one but has the legal clout needed for both parties.

LEt me know and I will e-mail it to you.

Bill, I'd like a copy of that contract too, if you don't mind.

Gary, thanks for the tip on the wine. Good stuff! Next time we get together I'm sure you'll have to correct my right hand again, but this time I'll bring the booze.

And bring a variety (wine) too, I have an abundance of taste buds that need to be satisfied!

There is Ernest, there is Julio and drek to start out with, then we graduate to Hermitage-Domaine Jean-Louis Chave of which there is only 300 cases available per year, Chateauneuf-duPape, Clos Vougeot, a really nice Grand Cru, Claret by Newton (not the fig company either) made in the Napa Valley and Rochioli from the Russian River Valley, an estate grown Pinot Noir. I could mention many others but I really need to woodshed some this evening.
Jon, Thunderbird and M/D 20/20 has some interesting varietiles you might enjoy.

Yeah, I was making Budweiser spritzers with some of that Jean-Louis Chave stuff the other day--at least I think it was--comes in gallon jugs, right? I wouldn't waste a Bud with the T'bird. That's strictly Genessee Cream Ale territory.
