Just got this album today, its a radio transcription which was never put out for sale. Besides Faron, it has The Deputies, Margie Singleton, Darrell McCall, Archie Campbell, and Mel Tillis. Ben Keith is on steel. Anybody else have a copy of this? I was wondering when it was released, or any other interesting info. To me, its worth owning just to hear Faron sing the Mary Carter paint jingle!!! Very interesting indeed!!! Jason

Jason: Does Faron sing any duets with Margie Singleton. I've been looking for their single released on Mercury some time around 1964 titled "Another Man's Woman, Another Woman's Man". Any help there? Also, not too long ago I purchased two CD's of Faron's radio show circa 1965 where he was pitching beer instead of paint. Always interesting to read your posts and thanks.

Guys, how about listing the CD/LP full titles, label and cat# number?

I would be mighty interested to track these ones down.

Jason:
Mary Carter LP was done around 1969, on Mary Carter label #1000.

Radio shows are 3 separate cd's put out on Country Stars label from Belgium. CD #s are:
Disk 1 - CTS 55413
Disk 2 - CTS 55414
Disk 3 - CTS 55415
They were released around 1993.

Gary,
Yes, Faron sings a duet with Margie Singleton on "Keeping Up With The Joneses", which I believe did pretty well for them chart-wise. I have yet to hear the one you are looking for, but I'll keep my eyes peeled. Jason

For those who inquired:

Faron Young The Radio Shows Vol and Vol 2
Sponsored by Pearl beer
CD Liner says recorded in 1965
Made in Belgium
Released on Country Star label CTD 55413 and 55414.
21 songs on each CD mainly Faron's hits as well as others. Good quality and good steel. Very little monologue by Faron.

I purchased these on-line several years ago thru www.cdnow.com. I checked and they're no longer listed. The Ernest Tubb Record Shop catalogue doesn't show them either. I remember both CDs being available some time ago thru Collector's Choice Music in Itasca, Ill.... www.ccmusic.com. The Cd's are not listed in their current catalogue. You can call them too at 800-923-1122. They'll make an effort to find them for you.

The Lp had to be recorded in late 64 or early 65. The Mel Tillis cut is also a single he had out on the "RIC" label in 1965 (the first of 3 that year before moving to "KAPP" records).
