My faves:

Mills Brothers
Andrew Sisters
Roche Sisters
Everly Brothers
The Modernaires (sang with Glenn Miller and Tex Beneke)

But for the last, there is definitely a pattern. I think the similarity in tone of siblings makes for a kind of blending so that it sounds more like one voice singing a chord than separate voices singing the separate notes of a chord.

There's a band I like called Ricochet and they can play instruments and sing songs a capella with awesome harmony. They've recorded a version of our National Anthem and when they sing it, I always turn up my radio. Brett Day, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel.
