Can someone help me?
I have a 78 RPM RCA Victor Record of Jimmy Rogers "Blue Yodel" I need to know what year it was recorded..Where..how many copies were sold.. This is not a reissure it is a orginal 78.
Would like to know worth of record. All I know now is somewhere between 1927-1933
The record has a number on the near center of the label #21142-A
The flip side has "Away out on the Mountian"
#21142-B
Thanks

both songs were recorded in camden, new jersey on nov 30, 1927. i think that was jimmie's second recording session. they were issued in early 1928.

both have been reissued many times. the original 78 is uncommon but not rare and wouldn't be worth anything to speak of.

original sales of 78s from that era are just about impossible to estimate due to poor record keeping and reporting.

Ken Thanks for the web sight, I think you have hit it on the head.
The record I have has these songs...

BVE 40753-2 "Blue Yodel"-February 3, 1928 (Jimmie Rodgers)

Mitch Thanks you are also correct after looking closley at the label at the bottom it has ...Victor Talking Machine Co. Camden NJ
has no date, just printed on the label and stamped into the Vinal the # 21142-A on the Blue Yodel and on the flip side "Away out on the Mountian" # 21142-B There is also a VE stamped into the Vinal and on the Label
