Author | Topic: Fiddle player for Patty Loveless |

![]() I saw PL on Conan last night. Don't know if it was a repeat because I was half asleep. Anyway, her fiddle player was outstanding. She had a sweet tone and even plucked some blues riffs. Anynone familiar with this person? The Tele player was pretty good too. |

![]() I wonder if that was the same fiddle player that was with Patty on the CMAs when they did "Lovin' All Night". She was a really fine player. The electric guitarist then was playing a hollow-body of some sort. I don't have names for either, though I know that Deanie Richardson and Stuart Duncan layed down the fiddle work for On Your Way Home. |

![]() No steeler, but 3 guitars: 1 acoustic, 2 electric. Maybe the steeler picked up a guitar for that appearance. The song was "Lovin' All Night", so it must have been an up-to-date show. Lead electric was a Tele with steel hand picks. The guy used 3 fingers with picks on thumb and forefinger. Anyways, the fiddle player was definitely "special". The tone from her fiddle almost sounded modeled as it was exceptionally sweet. I could not hear any raspy tone at any time. But it still sounded in place. ![]() That describes Deanie, her new fiddle player has dark hair, must have been an old show maybe? |

![]() I know that Loretta Brank has been doing some shows with her - she did the CMAs - but I don't know if she was on the show you mentioned. |

![]() Patty has two monster fiddlers. The blond is Deanie Richardson, and the brunette is Carmella Ramsey whose husband is Kenny Vaugn, Marty Stuart's monster guitar player. Both Deanie and Carmella have intense soul when they are playing. Their technical skills in combination with their soulful playing will bring tears to your eyes. Carmella is also an incredible high harmony singer and mandolinist. When these two girls start playing fiddles in harmony they seat you in your mind right smack dab in the center in the middle of a Kentucky coal mine. With Patty singing, it doesn't get any better. ![]() Deanie no longer plays for Patty, she and her brother Bubba run a business called the Main Stage, located in beautiful downtown Springfield, TN. She teaches fiddle, Bubba teaches dance, and Dave Ristrim teaches steel guitar. |

![]() That is Deanie and Carmella. Larry, I wasn't aware that Deanie is no longer with Patty. She is an incredible violinist/fiddler. Miles of soul. [This message was edited by Kevin Hatton on 22 December 2003 at 08:10 AM.] |
