I saw Delaney in NYC just after I moved there, great show.
Big band, great energy, his voice has lost nothing since the old days, and a real fun performer.

The opening act was a trio with a steeler named Dan Hovey, who plays a mean C6, 6 string lapsteel and lead guitar. I believe it was with Fausto Boaza on guitar and Brian Mitchel on piano.

Dan later was an occasional sit in with my bluegrass band, and recorded C6 dobro for me on several cof my original songs, just be fore I moved to France.

I remember Delaney when he was playing bass for Gene Davis at the old Palomino Club in North Hollywood in the sixties. What a singer. He's gotten more bluesy and has more soul in his voice than he did in those days. He was more into the Roy Orbison thing and did the greatest versions of "In Dreams" and "Leah" which in my opinion rivaled the originals. He played one of those Danelectro basses with the horns on it. That particular band also had Jerry Inman and Red Rhodes in it. Have a good 'un...JH

What an idea Kulaks Woodshed is! I hope there is more things like that as time goes by. Maybe one for Steel Players. The Internet is taking the place of the local access cable channels that used to be around.
