Steve-
Before I got my Twin, my preferred setup was both Bassman amps ... the BIG sound! Alternatively the Vibrolux and one of the Bassmans in tandem...

not exactly portable, but I was younger and full of spunk...

nowadays it's 'bout all I can do to get the Twin on the handtruck

back on topic- any advice for me on buuilding callouses?

Callouses - it just happens.

Play a lot of scales.
Find out what the CAGED system is, if you don't already know. Learn the major scale in each of those five positions, and how to connect them.

When you're done with that you'll have callouses.

Dave...have you got Emmylou's first three albums?I learned a LOT of Tele stuff off those records!Between those and Merle Haggard records, there's enough to keep you busy for a LONG time...

well I'm finding great stuff online about the caged concept...

I replaced the volume knob and took my Tele out to last friday's gig in Annapolis to let our guitarist/songwriter/Fender junkie Scott McKnight look it over for me... I expected he'd sight down the neck and maybe adjust the bridge a bit (which he did)... he ended up playing it all night Told me it "sounds more like a Telecaster than my Telecasters..." It did sound great with him playin' it...

the Sea Foam Green Color is even more intense in person-I love it!

c'mon callouses!!

Wow! I love that colour ('though my wife thinks it's like a bathroom fitting!)

I need a Strat in the same hue..... (sorry, dear!)

she's got a point-in the picture it does have a retro restroom thing about it- that color with the "Mother of Toilet Seat" pickguard...

but it's much different in person
